Nobody adds Mountain Dew to cooking, outside of maybe some kinds angel food cakes or cobblers. Even for those I've really only seen people use 7-up or some kind of ginger ale. People will use Coke and Dr Pepper for quick and dirty marinades or barbeque recipes because the acidity will help break down the meat.
