Every time Bob uses that wave đź‘‹ emoji, I can't help but imagine him seething, gritting his teeth and clenching his fist so hard that he's on the verge of breaking whatever he's holding.

Why does Bob (and consoomers on discord) have to pretend to have been life long fans of Moon Knight? It's okay to have never heard of Moon Knight before.
I grew up reading (sidebar: I was mostly DC but aware of Marvel's 'big' names) comics and had never heard of Moon Knight until a couple years ago. I feel like a lot of Bob's "lifelong" Marvel fandom is performative and artificial.

It's such a fake nerd thing to cream yourself over an obscure character and pretend you've been a fan forever. Like when The James Gunn's The The Suicide Squad The trailer came out and people were like "OMG MY HECKIN POLKA DOT MAN" fuck you. You'd never heard about him till you saw the trailer and Googled the name from whatever forgotten Silver Age toilet paper he was featured on.

I definitely remember my brother collecting Moon Knight, but we're talking the mid-80s relaunch, not long after Bob was born. He's transparently full of shit, as usual.

Hell, I read Moon Knight something like ten years ago and I'm not nearly as excited as the Consoomer Crew. If you want a good Moon Knight film, watch Batman, its basically the same thing but less mental illness, or with how the new Batman is shaping up in the trailers, maybe the only difference will be in the color of costumes.

To be perfectly fair portraying Batman as unhinged/mental is neither a new idea or far from the truth.

I mean if Bruce Wayne was real and we found out about a billionaire that jumps off buildings in a an animal costume and adopts orphan boys constantly, he'd have a thread here and I say that as a lifelong Batsped.

The most I've seen of actual hype for Moon Knight are some fans who are cautiously optimistic. Most people I know who are into comics are just mocking the hell out how cheap and ugly his costume looks.

Who the fuck is Moon Knight? Never heard of him. Why is Marvel putting out movies with no name characters when they have access to characters like Wolverine, Iron Man and Dr Doom. Fuck Marvel has the perfect opportunity to get both The Hoff and Samuel L Jackson in the same movie with a Nick Fury Sr and Nick Fury Jr buddy movie. That would make absolute fucking bank but no Marvel have to be absolute fags and make movies with characters no cunt has heard of.

Here is what most people know about Moon Knight:

Stephen Platt ridiculous anatomy (look at those quads) and a meme.

This character is a D-lister that got some push in the 2010's (I think even Bendis gave the character a go) but he never managed to do much.

The true believers know who this character is, but I recon only them. When I was deep into the floopies, I saw some of his comics around but never saw anyone buying or talking about it.

Robert is poser, so he is going to pose, but this whole hype "OMG, I'm so excitd for Moon Knight, he is like Batman, but crazy, LOL!!!", I mean, bitch please, none of you read a single page of the character, stop acting as if your were waiting with bated breath for this fucking Moon Knight of all character.

I would sooner buy a more genuine hype for Power Pack.

Unless it's his gimmick, your guy shouldn't look like he can do squats while holding an elephant under each arm.

Nobody ever gave two shits about Moon Knight. Anybody that says they did is lying. Moon Knight and the Eternals are about as far down the barrel as you can scrape.

But keep shilling any product Disney lays out, Bob. Girls think sexy.

I'm fine with that. It might even be a good thing. Characters like Ant-Man and Dr Strange were largely unknown outside of comics until the MCU films made them household names. It gives characters that are different a chance to shine, or it did before Marvel shit the bed post Endgame. Marvel also needs to get away from "guy in spandex punches super villain in the face" type stories because people are sick of those, or at least sick of how formulaic they have become.

Seems to be the case. So far, Disney has been doing well introducing these obscure characters and having them to be well liked, that's why I said that I'm rather curious how the public will react to Ms. Marvel (kamal kahn) and Iron Heart, because regardless of all the drama involving these characters in the comics, they are a blank slate to the audience Disney courts, and i wonder if at least the concept of Kamala Kahn and Riri William will be a hit with a larger public, I think they might well be if done by good writers of course.

And by a hit, I mean just well received. I know Disney is still making bank (shocker) and looks like the Marvel series are doing good (according to Disney, so you know, grain of of salt), but in general I've seen the the public interest waning away from the capeshit in general, or at the very least they don't stay relevant for long, which is natural in this fast paced content consuming world we live, so now a hit is just when you manage to hold the spotlight for a bit...which I think this new Marvel capeshit will manage to do.

For how long is another question though.

Everyone says "this will surely be the point of capeshit fatigue" whenever a new title is announced.

I don't know if it will be or won't be, but it's clear Disney is going to ride the train till it runs out of track.

The only question I have is when that happens, do they have anything ready, much less in the pipeline 8 or 10 months back, that can take over? Like the media after they succesfully De-Trumped the White House, are they in any way planning for life after Pew-Pew Fly-Fly?

I doubt it, based on how they seem to be successful yet inefficient in their current stumbling-around mode.

Iger's plan was to acquire a bunch of recognizable brands and milk all of them into eternity. Marvel was first, then Lucasfilm, then the Fox buyout and all its associated properties (with the added benefit of getting more Marvel rights and clearing up Star Wars rights issues). If capeshit went south, there would be other evergreen properties to exploit. I mean, how could something like Star Wars ever fail?

What he didn't count on was absolute morons driving these series into the ground by injecting their own personal politics into them. Star Wars is no longer a tentpole movie series, it's been reduced to low-budget filler shows for Disney+. Marvel's replacement heroes for their popular stars that have moved on just don't inspire the same reactions in the public, as seen by how only the Spiderman movie last year did great numbers (and it's also being milked for D+ content). Indy 5 is mired in production issues and probably going down the woke path as well. Fox productions that were made before the buyout have been shoved here and there with little fanfare, and I can't think of any popular franchise sequels that are supposed to be coming out.

I think the plan was simply to control so much of the entertainment industry that it didn't matter if trends shifted and something that was once popular became passé. If you're the only option for movies, where else are people gonna go? But despite Bob's (Iger and Chipman) dreams of the Rat monopoly, Disney isn't that huge yet. And many people, when given no other option for their new entertainment of choice, will simply choose to tune out entirely. There's decades of films, TV shows, books, music, video games, and all manner of other forms of entertainment to choose from that won't insult you or your intelligence. If Hollywood won't produce quality options anymore, it's no big deal. As long as physical media remains an option (or the Seven Seas), we can still go elsewhere.

I don't think this is right. Morons injecting their woke politics into Disney franchises was part of the plan. Disney strategized around going woke and greenlit all that crap. What he didn't count on was people deciding not to gobble up plates of dog shit just because the plate said "Star Wars" on it. Iger believed that Disney-owned brands are bulletproof and could be safely used as vehicles for whatever the political flavor-of-the-month was as long as some basic adherence to the brand formula was maintained on a surface level.

Entertainment is optional. We don't need it to survive. Humanity survived for millennia without movies, video games, television, or recorded music, so if all that stuff is going to be terrible, we can choose to do other things with our leisure.

It's hard to say how much of what goes on at the top of these megacorporations is true belief and how much is cynical cash grabbing, like how Pride turned from fags prancing about in the streets into the most sanitized corporate bullshit over the past few years because megacorps realized how much gays would be willing to spend on shit decked out in rainbows (once they'd become safe enough to market to in the wake of gay marriage, anyway). Still, I'd hazard a guess that what definitely wasn't part of the plan was the wokening of all these properties to cause them to tank so severely. Iger might be all in on the social justice Koolaid for all we know, but something tells me he cares a lot more about his bottom line than about whatever dangerhairs on Twitter are screeching about this week.

Gays are 1%-2% of the country, and it's not like IBM or General Electric sell much that fags in particular buy. Every large corporation in America has an HR department staffed with true believers in order to keep the discrimination-industrial complex satisfied, and once gay became the new black, those people just did what comes naturally.

Do you know where I know Moonknight from? One Summer I loaded Spiderman and Venom Maximum Carnage on the ZSNES and summoned him against a boss.

Has Bob commented on the news that the Netflix Marvel shows will be gone from March 1?
"Uh, that just means that Disney has forced them to be removed so they don't have to pretend they exist!"

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Daredevil Season 4 appears on Disney+ and it's not a reboot with the same actors, just for the freak out.
On to 5000 and the fabled Bob-pocalypse!
I can see it happening before the end of the year. Wonder if there'll be a big twitter spat that'll get us there quicker?
Reminder that in Bob´s malfunctioning brain he thinks that he is part of the entertainment, technological, film and arts industries
And if you say otherwise, you're an obsolete mayoghoul and not a person.
