I did a quick check on Amazon to see how wrong he is. Not only is the complete seven-book paperback set #1 in children's fantasy books, it's currently #72 among all books across the entire site. The complete eight-movie DVD set is #51 in movies, while the Blu-ray set is #101. For a book series that ended 15 years ago and a movie series that ended just over a decade ago, those are far from "busted property" numbers. And that's before you get into the continued success of HP merchandise, the wildly popular Wizarding World attractions at Universal Studios, and so on. Hell, the prequels might not be doing main series numbers, but they're at least doing well enough to continue greenlighting more movies.

Now, I'll admit that I've more or less moved on from Harry Potter just as a function of getting older. The prequel movies didn't really interest me at all, and I've felt no urgent desire to revisit that world after the story reached its natural conclusion.
