Laughing my ass off at Bob bringing up witch trials. Spoiler alert, there were plenty of Christians opposed, and groups like the Catholic church actually considered belief in witches heretical. Quite a few of the hunts were carried out by the secular authorities of the day. Hell, despite how much of a meme they are, the Spanish Inquisition had actual evidential standards (well, as much as you can for hunting witches) and they had literally one hunt (in Basque) and out of something like 5000 people arrested, only 15 were convicted and executed.

If Bob was around during the witch hunting days, I feel like Lindsay Ellis and other women trying to avoid him would more likely than not wound up on a pyre. But even funnier, I'll just share the CS Lewis quote that the Witchblr thread passed around a few months back.

“Three hundred years ago people in England were putting witches to death. Was that what you call the 'Rule of Human Nature or Right Conduct?’ But surely the reason we do not execute witches is that we do not believe there are such things. If we did—if we really thought that there were people going about who had sold themselves to the devil and received supernatural powers from him in return and were using these powers to kill their neighbours or drive them mad or bring bad weather—surely we would all agree that if anyone deserved the death penalty, then these filthy quislings did? There is no difference of moral principle here: the difference is simply about matter of fact. It may be a great advance in knowledge not to believe in witches: there is no moral advance in not executing them when you do not think they are there. You would not call a man humane for ceasing to set mousetraps if he did so because he believed there were no mice in the house.”

Here are some fun facts:
  • Most (a plurality) of the witch trials we know about took place in the 16th and 17th centuries, during a time of extreme religious and political turmoil in Europe.
  • The authorities generally disliked witchcraft trials, and would acquit defendants if the only charge was witchcraft. Those who were executed were never executed solely because they were witches; there usually was some other reason.
  • Moviebob will die a diabetic virgin, and no amount of witchcraft will ever change that.

One of the things about the Ultimate Showdown is some of it's references were pretty dated even then if you were a Millenial. Stuff like Transformers and He-Man was too late for me (revivals also being irrelevant), Chuck Norris jokes had long worn out their welcome, and I never watched Mr Rogers or Pee Wee's Playhouse growing up. It was one of the earliest examples I can remember of "hey remember x?". Only thing it had going for it was a catchy beat.

Compare something like Homestarrunner where there is reference humor but you don't have to read a whole Wiki article just to understand a given SBEmail.
The strangest part of that song to me was that among all the pop-culture figures from movies and tv, for some reason they included Benito Mussolini.
Seriously on the Boycott thing, Disney is kind of on the edge of the knife. Yes they're booking vacations and resorts...but the cost of that shit has inflated and wages haven't gone up much. You'll still have the hardcore Disneytards that will go into debt to visit, but a lot of families are gonna be having second thoughts about this stuff anyway.

It wouldn't take much "Disney supports grooming" to send those people elsewhere.
Bob Iger's studio acquisition spree put the company in over $50 billion in debt. That's not an easy hole to dig out of even during good times, but this all happened right before COVID fucked over the parks side of the business. It would not surprise me if the Rat had to enter Bankruptcy protection in the near future, and when that happens I guarantee you that then Blobbo Retardo would start blaming the MAGA-trash for ruining a company that was bringing the Superior Future ™️ with their boycott, even though they really wouldn't have anything to do with it.
The more I see Biden’s approval rating tank every day, the more I get the sense Bob and the other SJW retards are going to have some sort of nightmare this upcoming midterm election and 2024.
Don't underestimate the GOP's ability to fuck things up.
In the Superior Future, grammar is obsolete.

How many examples of improper grammar, misspellings, and general inappropriate/wrong use of words do we have to pull up from your Twitter feed or various shitty books and reviews again, Bob?

The random hyphens are bad enough, and make him look more like a deranged outsider artist than someone who is merely bad at grammar, but for my money the funniest error is that he has not once to my knowledge gotten the its / it's distinction correct.

Anytime Bob tries to mock someone else's writing people should just respond to him with any of the paragraphs of his Eternals review.

All a single sentence.

These ones are two sentences and one of them is another paragraph (immediately after the prior one) that starts with "in any case"':

I assume Bob knows since he stopped posting text reviews after this.

holy shit fatboy what happened to "Thumbs Up / Thumbs Down"

EDIT:
The joke was actually about Jada's hair loss saying "looking forward to G.I. Jane 2 " which is far, far less worse than calling her a whore like I thought. Get rekt Will Simp.

Will Smith just bitch slapped Chris Rock live on the Oscars.
That's not an exaggeration.
Chris made some sort of joke at Jaden's expense that I guess ended with "she belongs in the streets", Will marches onto the stage, bitch slaps Chris, walks off the stage, and yells at Chris from his seat "keep my wife's name out of your fucking mouth". Bob is impressed.

Will didn't' even knock over Chris. Chris stands there and bobs back like a punching dummy after the strike. A teen age girl may as well slapped Chris. This was some beta behavior on Will's part. Jada humiliated Will by telling the world that she doesn't see him as a man and cheated on him with their son's friend. Chris calls the whore a whore and Will's beta nature takes over to defend his stunning and brave and strong woman. It's embarrassing because she does not respect Will and all she saw is Will not able to knock over a man a foot shorter than himself. What's worse is that this is gonna be talked about for an annoying amount of time by other betas saying "SEE?!? This is how a man should act" while their girl is getting reamed in the other room.

Good Bob, good boy. "But look at the social media numbers!" they'll cry tomorrow as they attempt to justify their outlandish marketing budget in conjunction with absurd legacy media leadup coverage while ratings for The Oscars continues to collapse.

Bob will probably shit out another hundred tweets from the completely True and Honest Discourse that will dominate the week.

I believe that if you couldn't proved the accused was a Witch then they killed you or took a lot of money as reparations.

Fascism was not a purely reactionary ideology. Italian fascism was very much based around technological advancement and building a "new Italy". Mussolini was originally an anticlerical socialist. The Spanish Phalanx (fascists) did not get along with the Carlists (Catholic monarchists) until Franco merged both their organisations into one party and basically forced them to put their differences aside. The Nazis in Austria were opposed to Engelbert Dolfuss' religious conservative government. True, you did get agrarian fascist movements like the Iron Guard in Romania which were very much religious organisations, but Codreanu, their leader, was by no means a reactionary and thought the monarchy and bourgeois had a negative influence on Romania.

Then again Moviebob thinks "fascism" means "when people do things I don't like" so it's not like he knows what any of those movements actually are beyond "the bad guys in capeshit".
Also, consider that when Mussolini came to power, Italy still had a King and within living memory, had barely been a country within it's own borders as much as a loose confederation of states.

Considering the turmoil the Great War and Great Depression had heaped upon them it probably seemed more natural that a Military Strongman was the next obvious and rational step, definitely more than any promise Il Duce did or did not make to finally get rid of Catholicism.

Framing it all as reactionary and anti-Papist at it's core is a fuzzy quasi-correct notion at best and ignorance at worst.

All Chris Rock said to Jada is that he was "looking forward to G.I. Jane 2 ", making reference to her buzzcut (which may be due to alopecia) which was a very light roast that didn't warrant violence from Will Smith.
