The genius of Kevin Feige, Part II - A counter-theory: Feige is a genius because he is a big nerd who listens to his heart.

If it wasn't for the fact Iron Man did well the MCU would not exist. But what a lot of people forget is that it was using an underutilized hero. Until the RDJ vehicle, no one knew much about him other than his "powers" were he was super rich and had power armor. Cap was tried in the 80s and didn't do that well, and Hulk was the first non-X-Men attempt in years solely because the old TV series with Lou Ferrigno did okay which led to recognition. X-Men only got tried because the 90s cartoon did really well (I grew up watching it and loved it). Hell, the movie didn't even have a script, the lines were 90% ad libbed. But they had the technology to make the suit look good and RDJ blew it out of the water because he didn't need to act to play a spoiled rich guy with a substance abuse problem. But since the other movies only did okay at best, I can guarantee the execs only gave Avengers a shot since Guardians did shockingly well and they already had all the rights for it and if it tanked they'd pull the plug.No to mention that the "MCU" as we know right now wasn't that big of a thing till Avengers. The Edward Norton Hulk movies that was supposed to start it all was a flop, Iron Man was a hit, but mostly because of RDJ and everybody agreed that the 3rd act of the movie sucked, Thor was meh and nobody really cared, Iron Man 2 sucked because it was a rushed mess to capitalize on the success of the first one and Captain America was "okay".
Giving Feige credit for Iron Man doesn't even make sense. Jon Favreau and Downey Jr. (who Favreau fought Marvel to keep cast as Tony Stark) should get the bulk of the credit for so many of the decisions that people love. Feige didn't get promoted until it had already started filming after Avi Arad stepped down. The Nick Fury scene was done by Favreau and the crew, Jackson got the contract for all the films after it as it was never intended as part of some grand scheme that Feige had created from the start. Bob's confusing his fan fiction for actual recorded history again. Feige doesn't give himself as much credit for the MCU's financial success as Bob does.
While the diabetes is a meme, we know for sure he has something. He has visibly deteriorated since his Game Overthinker days, and somewhere in this thread there's a picture of him in shorts, with a red splotch clearly visible on one leg. Maybe it's the diabetes, maybe it's his liver, maybe it's just a solid decade of virulent hate taking its toll. But he is not doing well.Is Bob having diabetes just a meme or does he actually have it? ( Not 100 percent up to date on Bloberts lard lore)
I've seen Daria. She is sarcastic, snarky, always has a witty one-liner/comeback, and tries to come off as jaded and above it all while really coming off as annoying. As for Daria, I haven't seen it. But for some reason it was all over the Internet when I was in my early 20s. If you met a hipster, even odds he'd sperg about how great Daria to sperging about the newest IPA from Assbleed Brewing Company. Apparently it's "witty" and "subversive" which just means the protagonist is some disaffected "outsider" who criticizes the status quo.

I think part of it is the reveal that, rather than having everything planned out, the MCU is actually pretty flexible and doesn't have a real plan. I can easily see Bob as being one of those 'writers' who doesn't plan out his stories and just writes from beginning to end with a vague idea and assumes everyone else does the same thing and they're lying about building the world or building the plot before they get started. That Feige admits that he does this for the MCU is just more proof that Bob's backwards methods truly are superior because if something like the MCU can be done that way, then obviously when Bob finally gets around to his film career he can do it too.Had no idea about the Nick Fury scene, so the MCU had some spit balling going on.
And yeah, I don't get from where Robert get this idolatry for Kevin Feige from. It was never much clear what his creative involvement with the movies are, but from the looks of it. yes, the MCU is heavly pre-produced and you get the storyboards for actions scenes and set pieces and roadmapas for what the movies will be about years before a single draft of a script is written, and being the executive Producer of varios on going projects, probably the most Feige gets involved in creative decisions are a Yay or nay, since he also has to oversee budgets, marketing, scheduling etc.
And like you mentioned, whenever I see Feige on interviews, which isn't all that many, he just does his job to sell the movie, it seems the media gravitated towards him because it is easier to sell a picture around a central figure, Walt Disney had fuck all to do with his animation movies after Fantasia, and yet whenever a new animated movie came out "Walt Disney presents!".
But Feige himself seems down to earth, he just sells his movies and seems to keep the ego in check, which suits the man, since he isn't a charisma powerhourse either, and his high profile directors seems to do a better job gathering people's attention.
Which is yet another reason on why this Feige idolatry from Robert is so fucking weird.
It boils down to him overlaying his worldview on the world itself..... to his children's-fiction sensibilities, every massive commercial undertaking can't be the result of large groups of people working in concert (those are just masses of dumb "believers" ) , it's much more pleasing to see them as the work of one great supergenius (a thinker) whose hand guides all and without which all productivity grinds to a halt.Which is yet another reason on why this Feige idolatry from Robert is so fucking weird.
It is a doomer novel, its appeal comes from the pessimism it approachs the world and the coming of age story, the characters are (mostly) pricks on propose. It is not a particularly great doomer book, but it is decent tho i am biased, if you are not a fan of pessimistic literature, it will definitely not be the book that will win you overTo add to the Catcher in The Rye discourse, I read when I was a freshman in high school and hated it. Holdern Caulfied is a eternally woe-is-me prick who completely lacks self-awareness. Just because he had one sweet moment with his sister does not make him a good person, nor does it make him a good protagonist. The guy who shot John Lennon could've at least chose a book that wasn't nearly as gay as motivation to blow away a Beatle. Bob is a lot like Holden Caulfield because he is also an immature, whining jackass that wierdos idiolize when all he deserves is to be beaten in public.
We should add The Chippa to the thread's title at this point.

And born rich.Holden Caulfield is basically a lefty today: hollowed out, directionless, a drain on society
Oh Jesus Christ Bob, pick a fucking type beyond "has a pulse." If you're simping for the world's ugliest ginger just because she's a ginger then you're a step removed from fucking a tranny. This guy is such a pathetic coomer. It pisses me off more than his political takes! He's giving a bad name to chivalrous perverts everywhere! And born rich.
I have no idea why "intellectual" people are so enamored by Holden Caulfield. He is just a Byronic hero without the wit and the superficial charm.
Psaki's plaster is falling apart. She thinks anyone who asks questions on Fox News's behalf will come off like a "stupid son of a bitch" (Archive of NYDN story)

I strongly doubt Pskai is a good fuck, but different strokes.
I find it funny that Bob has an issue with Enter's complain about the time period of the movie when he did the exact same shit with the joker.
Bob, in addition to trying to imitate what he thinks Cavemen sounded like, sounds like he was trying a little too hard to imitate Tim the Toolman Taylor (Tim Allen) on Home Improvement. If Bob was on TV, would it be called "Home SIMProvement"?
