To add to that, The PS4 game also had a fantastic take on Spider-man too, capturing most of what you said as the writers, and developers at Insomniac show their passion, and care for the character. Peter is not a screw up, nor socially inept. He might have his bullheaded moments, but there is a freaking reason why Gloria, and many people still support him when he gets evicted. He is a good person with a likable presence despite his flaws.

But again, expecting Bob to pay attention to what the lesson of HIS FAVORITE HERO present is a fool's errand. Despite all the colorful language, he really doesn't care about the morals about Peter, nor what makes his character compelling. For me, one of my favorite portrayals of Peter recently was the version from Spiderverse. Yeah he's currently at a low point, but when it shows his life you see all the good work the guy did, he's still helping Miles, and once he gets his mojo back he gets back in the saddle and finds MJ. Yeah the movie I think tries to make him look pathetic, but for me, the more you dump on Peter and the more he comes back, the more I root for the guy.

To me that's the key to Spiderman, the universe dumps on him, near constantly. No matter how cool his powers are, I think Peter would always be happier without them. Its all about responsibility, he became a hero because he unintentionally got his uncle and surrogate father killed.

That article is written by a retard who conflates "hibernation" in sci-fi with hibernation animals do.

Sci-Fi hibernation is either cryogenic freezing and awakening or a chemically induced hypersleep where it's less than a medical coma and the bodies functions virtually cease. There is little to no (with no being optimum) nutrient expenditure or anything like that. Additionally, the author acts as if there would be no machines to keep them on a nutrient drip.
