I have yet to delve into more of the expanded Tolkien writings, though I intend on working through the History of Middle-Earth at some point. Lord knows he's far too simple to actually understand why Amazon's butchery of the source material is so offensive to Tolkien fans, so we'll have plenty to sperg about together.

Funniest part is I'd actually have been okay with the black dwarf and shit, even the black elf, if they were written like they were dwarves and elves. Bob's job as a critic is to engage with fiction. Bob has made it his purpose in life to engage with fiction every single day for over a decade. If fiction doesn't matter because none of it is real, nothing Bob has done with his life for the last decade or more has mattered by Bob's own admission. Bob lacks the mental capacity and moral fortitude to make sure his stupid opinions are at least consistent with his own stupid behavior.

Bob is permanently stuck at a childish mindset. There was a time where I didn't like darker, grittier films, books and games and it took me a while to grow enough to enjoy them, at age 12. Bob is still stuck with hating everything that has the slightest hint of maturity, and while many critics out there do let unprofessional takes slip into their reviews, Bob takes the fucking cake by writing nothing but opinionated horseshit without a single hint of professionalism. His reviews are often directly political with little to no regards in terms of substance, he never fucking touches the work's merits and goes to bash or praise a version of it that often doesn't exist outside Bob's strawmen!

It's no surprise he's buddies with only the most unhinged fuckers around, like a literal narcissistic rapist. He won't accept any opinions but his own and doesn't see anyone with different values as human, which is precisely as putrid and immature as his fellow assholes are. The Short Bus crew is one of the worst parts of Bob's Twitter Rampages as they join him on piling up against complete strangers!

There's also another option if they're really deadset on the cast. They could've just as easily establish that they have a white mom that Sue takes after. Sure, people may complain about passing off Kate Mara as a mixed woman at first but you'd be able to flip it on them by pointing out it's more "woke" since mixed people usually get depicted as taking after the darker parent and this leaves the potential to explore how it impacts their outlooks.

So not only do you keep the Fantastic Four as a biological family but if being woke's your goal, you have something more than "lmao shove a black guy in it" since you're adding something usually overlooked in media. I used to get comments growing up myself for not having my dad's darker skin color since people forget you get genes from both parents.

This may come off as a non-sequitur, but within the past year or so, the 1988 song "Glamor Boys" (by Living Colour) popped into my mind:

The reason I bring this particular track up is that I was thinking about coming up with a song parody into which I could describe Moviebob's persona. "Glamour Boys" seemed like it would be perfect; it describes the pretty-boy image of the 80s, and I felt that a parody of that song could be used to describe Moviebob (sung to the aforementioned tune):
