• Tries comparing Kamala to the Amercian dream. Is it because she has immigrant parents who were seeking a better life for their family? No, it's because he thinks American ideals are about mindless consumption. He does the "no ethical consumption under capitalism" bit but frames it as a good thing

Comic publishing is one of the most left-wing industries out there, they are actively bankrupting themselves to put shit no one wants on the shelves while hiding everything popular. I'm not much of a comic person, I hate buying anything other than a one-shot or anthology, I'm not a customer of these places. I went with a friend to pick up his monthly crap once and I noticed (during the height of Marvel fagging, probably the same time as Endgame) that there was NOTHING on the shelf I recognised. It was all the minor garbage characters they are trying to push today. Those shelves were fucking dusty too. The only clean spots that had obviously been purchased from were stuff like Dark Horse, the whole slew of comics from the most popular Avengers comics, Batman, and of course Watchmen.
The comics they had at the front desk where you purchase, with the most advertising, looked like absolute shit. Cal Arts tier drawing, anyone except a white male on the cover, stupid gimmicks, etc. No one touched it. Every customer was asked if they wanted one. No one said yes. This has gone on for a literal decade at this point.

I've had this thought before, but 90% of gun crime in the US takes the form of endemic warfare you'd see in African tribes fighting over water springs in the Ogaden desert. If you see footage of the gangs fighting each other it looks like a game. They run into the street, hold the gun way above their head, fire a handful of rounds, then the next person does it. The rate of death to gun violence in the untouchable demographic is probably far lower than it should be solely to modern medicine and Medicaid.

It's quite shocking to me how easily everyone seemed to forget that in the US and Australia it was incredibly common for schools all over the place to have gun clubs, with kids bringing automatic rifles to school every day. The Austin Tech shooting in the 60s was ended much quicker and with less blood because half the students brought their rifles to the college that day and were able to return fire. That was one of the few non-gang related shootings in the US pre-Columbine. Martin Bryant was '96. The late 90s is when everything changed. Something happened there. Probably a mix of the mass-expansion of the internet, hermit lifestyles, whatever else, I don't know.

There's something strange when you analyse everyone's concerns, though. Schools shootings, which are statistically extremely rare in a country of 350 million to the point the shock stats need to include cases when a gun was shot off campus but heard by students, are blown up. Gang shootings get no coverage. Gang shootings involving innocent teens get no coverage. I wouldn't be surprised if the millions of black Americans who join gangs and get involved in this culture do not know about the risks because it never gets covered. Sure, they understand there is some underlying risk, but it's like how everyone thinks kids playing in the street is asking for them to be immediately raped despite the evidence showing otherwise; it makes big news in the media, gang shootings don't. Add in the feeling you are invincible, and voila, a fifteen year old has joined the 13th Street Tribe's resource war against the Broadway Clan for who gets to control the local water drug supply.

The only time kids get access to firearms in the Commonwealth and the US today is either by joining the Cadets in whatever service branch or through parents, typically the latter in the US. The Cadets didn't fuck around when I was there, but we were all under eighteen and were largely left to ourselves on the range, policed by other under-eighteens. In the US, you are either blessed to have your gun experience be with dad on the range, or not blessed and have it be finding dad's Glock "wit da muhfuggin stendo" in the closet. The amount of accidental suicides or murder-suicides I've seen on Facebook or Instagram live with black teens is something to behold, and no one talks about it. It doesn't matter.

Actually, zoning laws probably would harm the poor and underprivileged the most to where they might literally stop them from achieving in their life. A rich and spoiled person probably would be able to get exemptions or zoning changed to make his life easier even if they didn't already have the advantage of being able to do whatever it is they want elsewhere.
