I've never understood the popularity of game theory and film theory, you get better attempts at explaining lore in Oneyplays videos where they're just bullshitting around.
Speaking of Oneyplays and Game Theory
You can watch any given 30 second stretch of this video and get more enjoyment out of than any given Bob or MatPat video. I find Bob working for Matpat to be very fitting, since everything they the two of them say in their videos is coming straight out of their asses. Granted, MatPat isn't a joyless, hateful prick like Bob.

To Bobby, the freakish Jan 6 "hearing" is just a massive election ad of the Democrats, on public fund no less.
vote1.png
The Democrats are literally relitigating their twice failed impeachment of Trump. The first half of their thing last week started with them saying that this was going to be the most produced hearing Congress has ever produced. That is not an exaggeration. They said that almost verbatim at the very beginning. They then never shut up about how Trump encouraged people to attack "these sacred halls" and never once talked about the people who actually went into the Capitol building which is what the Goddamned thing was supposed to be about. THEY EVEN SAID THAT THEY'RE NOT DONE WITH THEIR INVESTIGATION! These fuckers are spending our tax dollars on this circus.

Bob, the massive tard that he is, seems to act that this is actually might be a good thing because it will energize the true blue base, while foolishly tossing aside swing/centrists.

The economy is in the shitter and there is a plan to fix it.
We're told that a stagnant economy is actually a sign of a healthy economy and that too much growth is bad.
Inflation, which we were first told wasn't gonna happen, then transitory, then that it's here for the long run, is hurting people
Food prices are continually going up.
Foreigners who are unvaxed have free access to come into our country but actual US citizens do not.
Gas prices are over $5 a gallon nation wide and they are not going down, fun fact that's by design ty to @Memology 101 for making this and reminding me of what Biden himself said about gasoline
And we're told Putin shares the brunt of the blame for all of this.

Nobody cares about this bullshit hearing other than terminally online twitter users. The American public are concerned about making sure their pantries are filled and being able to afford to fuel up their cars so they can work to afford that fuel. They do not care about something that was all but admitted to be political theater in preparation of the November elections. Hell, BOB recognizes it for what it is which is how blatant it is. This is how the Dems are looking to rehabilitate their image, not by fixing the problems facing Americans but by crying out "ORANGE MAN BAD!". It's a bold strategy Cotton. Let's see if it pays off.

EDIT:
Holy Hell I didn't even get to read the second part of the post when I sperged out
Bobby also thinks people vote on TV logic, and that GOP voters are solely concerned about "petty cultural sh--" that fire off their "lizard brains".

The worst is I know there's no way to make him understand. Bob would absolutely sell out to have a health monitor and radio implanted into him so he could be micromanaged by whatever government health doctor was assigned to him because he abhors responsibility.

Gee, if only there was some pipeline built between Canada and USA which maybe Biden halted....
Holy shit, it's even more exceptional than that. Both Trudeau (Prime Minister of Canada) and Biden (President of USA) blame Vladimir Putin for the high gas prices. So, some :epik: NEEDS to reply the following to Erie Siobhan:

"the 2020 protests "BURNED CITIES TO THE GROUND!!" thing is the most pathetic example of conservatives believing TV is real life in modernity It's like if your grandma was "convinced" Godzilla had tore-up the place"
The historical revisionism Bob and people like him are doing to erase the violence of the 2020 riots is infuriating. YES, they did try to burn down multiple major cities. A 5 second search on google could you footage and photos of it happening. Entire sections of both Portland and Seattle became lawless anarchist zones rive with violence and rape. They attacked police stations and dozens of people died over the months of the riots. Nearly all of it was captured on video, photos and documented. To claim it's some right-wing conspiracy made up by FOX is ignoring reality.

Your pancreas doesn't work, Bob. Because you're diabetic, you see.

This is one of the most fucking retarded and pretentious things I've ever read. Is Bob paying Patrick Tomlinson to ghostwrite for him? "Can you name the specific nerve cluster causing that ache in your shoulder? No! That means you have no way of knowing how to do something about it!" reasons Bob, although "reason" is probably the wrong word for it. No, Bob, I don't know the femtoampere rating of the nerve endings misfiring in my shoulder, but I can take a fucking Tylenol. I can't explain the exact chemical process at a cellular level by which Tylenol relieves pain, but I know that it relieves pain and that it would be in my best interest to take one. This is because I can compensate for my lack of a medical degree by generalizing, recognizing patterns, ignoring irrelevant details, relying on the wisdom of others, and falling back on experience. This is how normal people make decisions about what's in their best interest without being world renowned, once-in-a-generation geniuses. You don't need to zoom in to autistically microscopic levels of detail about a problem to know what to do about it. Only a pretentious, pseudointellectual know-nothing who's never launched into the real world would ever think you do.

You could probably write a doctoral thesis on just how fucking stupid these mere seven tweets are. I have to tap out here before he makes me mad at the internet.

His "logic," as it is, breaks down completely with very little effort.

His argument is that, because the average person doesn't know everything, we cannot act in our best interest because we can't know what that is objectively. The implicit argument in that is that we need smarter people to make those decisions for us. But how many of those "smarter" people know everything? Not a damn one of them, that's for sure. Thus, taking Bob's argument to its natural conclusion, nobody can be trusted to make decisions on any topic and we should all just wallow around on the floor until we starve to death.

Now, I'm sure that you could take a different approach, with something like a council of experts on various topics that would each make decisions for the public on their area of expertise, which basically describes the technocratic utopia Bob has had a hard-on for for ages. But that too breaks down when you consider the major interplay between all manner of disciplines. Experts themselves are frequently hampered by their myopic viewpoint, laser-focused on a tiny area of study and failing to grasp connections to other fields.

And as you said, you don't need to know everything to make decisions about what's best for you. That's called "being an independent human being," something that pretty much everyone learns how to become by the time they hit adulthood. We make mistakes, sure, but by and large, most people can make rational decisions about their lives, which also includes political choices. Just because someone has a different opinion from you does not mean they are actively voting against their best interests. All you get from telling someone that is a swift "fuck off."

It's not hard to see why Bob is sometimes described as a cow impossible to A-log. He's simply too much of an abrasive cunt to not feel justified in your anger and hatred, even if he himself isn't really doing anything all that reprehensible. If you do feel your blood pressure rising, just remember that the Envoy of the Superior Future™ is a fat diabetic virgin literally living in his mom's basement, and chuckle to yourself that a man in such a situation could ever consider anyone else beneath him.

or the Dr. Strange one which he got hung-up on America Chavez's name to create this dumb analogy where she represents America the country which is young, gay, and Latina with Dr. Strange being Jesus protecting her from a MAGA woman (Scarlet Witch)
Wait.... what? I would like to know more!
There's so many layers to it that you don't even know which angle to take. The fact Bob doesn't understand that America is an actual name people IRL have? The fact America Chavez in particular is named after golden age character, Miss America, who's named after the beauty pageant? His 180 on Jesus symbolism? The absurdity of characterizing another immigrant woman who came to the US for a better life as a "MAGA stuck in the past" just because she's from a Slavic country?

It's very intricate as far as ignorance goes.
The more you explain, the less sense it makes! Can we clip this out of the youtube vid?

It almost makes watching movies or what have you a little bit dull for me, because I can't really turn the part of my brain off that's trying to work everything out as I go along, even things that aren't in the story proper. As an example, I recently watched GoldenEye for the first time about a month ago, and (spoilers for a 25-year-old movie) I had a laugh at how Sean Bean's character died in the first five minutes. Then I saw his name in the credits as second billing behind Pierce Brosnan, and I immediately thought "...okay, wait, they wouldn't credit him so highly if he only showed up for five minutes, that means he can't actually be dead," and sure enough. (Though he did still die anyway, so that still counts as an example of Sean Bean always dying.)
Bryan Cranston from Godzilla waves hi. ;) lol

For me, if it's engaging enough I can shut off part of my brain and go along for the ride.

The worst is when it drives me to the point I don't care where it goes, just end already! (looking at you - art films)

That's another piece of evidence that Bobby is actually a theist at heart. At the very least he believes in some kind of "Optima Platonism" -- that there exists an objectively best way to live for a certain person, but how would you assert this without asserting that God's eye view exists? The godless Existentialists such as Nietzsche and Camus have sorted out this predicament already: people live to make mistakes, and that's okay because our mistakes define us, make our life unique, and give our lives meaning. A truly fulfilled person will recognize the mistakes he has made along the way, yet if he were given a chance to rewind his life, he is nevertheless eager to make them again.

This? This is what sets me off most about Bob. He will strawman an argument, then blow that strawman into the most hyperbolic fashion. But THEN, to top it all off, his fucking followers will take that hyperbolic strawman and read it as actually what conservatives believe. Even though there NO where you can gleam that meaning from the original words.

I mean I tried to come up with an example, like maybe some people trying to say "hey trans folk, can you cool it and not bother kids?" and turn that into "they are literally shoveling trans people into incinerators!" but then I realized that is what Bobby and his ilk actually think.
Just something I was thinking about, Bob being big brained and saying "uhm ackshewly cities were, in fact, NOT burnt to the ground 🤣🤣🤣" I don't know exactly what to make of it. It's not really a strawman. It's like the most pedantic, internet intellectual smugly informing you that your business getting destroy can't actually be considered an act of God as there is no God and you deserve to lose everything for having such outdated ideas. No, cities were not razed. What that faggot in Bob's replies from last week said is correct, Portland still stands. You know what we did see on TV? Buildings burnt, businesses attacked, people attacked, federal buildings attacked, an autonomous zone set up, a warlord for the autonomous zone giving interviews, multiple rapes and murders in the autonomous zone, and all of this with corporate backing and the applause of government officials. Saying cities were burnt down is short hand for all of that I just said because John Q lives in the real world and doesn't have to deal with intellectuals from the hallowed hall of debate who are unable to relate with people struggling to pay their mortgage.

Saddle up this horse, Bob and ye tards. Ride it all the way to the end. Tell America not to believe their own eyes. Call them "mid-level stupids" while prices and shortages increase. I promise only good things.

Because to Bob, him knowing that genies are from Arabian mythology is the equivalent of him having deep, obscure knowledge about Arabian mythos.
I remember the Titan Quest game having genies dressed in Arab garb. I knew the story before I played that game (I got my esoteric knowledge from Age of Mythology 💄💋), but it was obvious by the design that it wasn't native to Greece. They wore turbans, for example. Arabic mythology is one of the most cookie-cutter anyway because of all the influences- Jewish, Babylonian, Sabaean, Axumite, Egyptian, Nabataean, Persian, these are all unique mythologies that were taken and used by Arabs for their own purposes. Genies in the pop-culture sense did not exist in far-away Greece, but they had their own take on the concept, itself influenced by Phoenician trader stories.

One of Islam's few redeeming qualities is it's ability to make people today unironically believe in practises dating back to antiquity, like wandering Djinn, the curse of the Evil Eye, etc. The stories of cultures that were long past expiration when even Jesus was around are still kept alive today.

I mean, setting aside the lunacy of "only I am smart enough to understand these subtle metaphors that I definitely didn't pull out of my ass," the idea of America being a personification of the USA is just ridiculously laughable on its face.

If you wanted to put forward a person that most accurately describes the United States, you'd want someone that was part of the majority for every demographic, or at least plurality. Going off of census resources (Wikipedia link but they're sourcing it from the census), that person would be:
  • Non-Hispanic white (60.1%)
  • female (50.8%, but honestly it's close enough either way)
  • between the ages of 21 and 44 (31.9%)
  • a native citizen (86.4%)
  • heterosexual (96.5%)
  • Christian (61%, with 40% being Protestant and 21% being Catholic)
Compare this to America the character:
  • Hispanic (17.6%)
  • female (again it's basically 50/50 so this is a gimme)
  • unclear age, either late teens or early 20s (18-20 year olds make up 3.7%)
  • immigrant (13.6%)
  • gay (3.5%)
  • unclear religion, possibly not religious (15%)
So the only metric by which America represents America is that she's female, and women have a slight majority in numbers.

This is the work of a true Thinker, let me tell you.

JayHarrison said:

Bob has claimed he partook of the devil's lettuce and called it "great". So, counterpoint: Pot doesn't NOT make a person violent.

Contrapoints too dumb to realize it's not the water, it's what's IN the water. Y'know, like pissed out birth control pill residue and leftover LSD from the 60s.

This is the work of a true Thinker, let me tell you.
Why think when you can just turn off your brain and shout "Yass kween, slay!"? It just boils down to that, like most of Moviebob's way of assessing characters.
Contrapoints too dumb to realize it's not the water, it's what's IN the water.
A lot of people cannot wrap their heads about that key difference. Yes, water is not harmful, but if it contains a lot of lead if can lead to some serious lead poisoning over the years. Does it stop being water because it has lead? No. But it's far more dangerous.

It's like imbeciles giving the arguments that eating fruit is no more benefitial for your health than eating some twix or snickers because both have a truckload of sugar.
