How will Bob react to seeing the Mario film?

It's not like they have a choice: China has a ban on movies depicting ghosts as the culture there sees it as distasteful.

Apparently you can get around such a law by saying the supernatural phenomena are hallucinations or some kind of fakes, but that's not gonna happen in a Ghostbusters movie. The Chinese aren't going to miss out on much, though.

Really good for them. From the looks of it, even if they didn't ban it, it probably wouldn't have done well anyway.

Still, love to see Bobbert come in and start ranting about the film being banned there. If only to see how badly he'll fuck it up.

It would be sweet for some to play the race card on Bob just to watch him squirm. :story:

Here's Bob bitching about the Shadow of Mordor collusion incident, but instead comes off as a bitter old man attempting to justify the over-politicalization of his reviews:

The reply on the bottom sums it up.

Hey @Reddit Avenger, if you're leaving for another vacation same time this year, it looks like Blob will be a part of the journey for years to come:

Never before have I seen so many people rushing to get on an obvious sinking ship.

The Shadow of Mordor thing is such old news why does it matter? The youtube arguement is about how a youtuber can be out of the game super fast when people find out they are a scumbag and take bribes or shit on their own fanbase. With websites, the company itself will support the person and if they have deep enough connections, not fire them. I have zero doubt that youtubers engage in scummy shit, but they don't have some big website name to lord over you while they talk down to you for this or that.

Is there any chance he won't love Ghostbusters?

And what are the chances he actually comments on the content?

The odds of Richard Nixon rising from the grave with the missing 18 minutes of the Watergate tapes is more likely than MovieBlob giving the movie anything less than a 10/10 review. It could be 3 1/2 hours of Melissa McCarthy cleaning the potato chip crumbs from under her boobs and he'd still declare it "Movie of the Year".

While it could be people voicing their opinion (honest or otherwise), people like Bob are forgetting that some are getting their kicks by simply riling people up over a stupid movie. He's forgetting the fact that these two guys could be saying that just rustle up anyone that thinks this movie is important.

Remember that time when a sort of nebbish looking dork calmly and politely explained to the Internet that the movie looked like it was going to suck, that he probably wasn't going to like it, and so he just wasn't going to bother with it? Why even give them your hate dollars, right?

Remember when the whole Internet shit on that guy? Did that make you happy Bob? Did you like those anti-fans?

It's terrible hypocritical to lament these fine upstanding gentlemen who are jubilantly hating it now. At least they paid to see it before forming their opinion. Isn't that what all the whiners like you wanted?

He called Ghostbusters a "well-meaning-pretty-good" movie. I feel like his fans will be pissed by that comment.

That's how you'd describe a child's crayon drawing. The funny part to me is that Bob still likes movies. And he didn't like this one. The cognitive dissonance is ripping him apart inside.

I think it's more like, "Holy shit, I made this my hill to die on, so I can't admit that I bet the farm on this cinematic cesspool. Not only that, but if I so much as say that the CGI was mediocre, the SJW clique I pander to will tear me apart"

Sure that happened. And then everyone stood up and applauded.

Actually, "well meaning" is about the faintest praise you could give a movie without actually driving around the parking lot yourself and screaming it sucked.
With lines like that, Bob Chipman could be the next Pete Hammond.

In the olden days we had "the Curate's egg"; nowadays we have "the well-meaning movie".

Did anyone else catch that tweet where he was supposedly flying to LA to pitch a movie or was I drunk again?
What idiot would hire him to pitch a movie?
(Although it is always possible that some scummy production house would hire him to pitch their competitor's movie.)
