I guess the takeaway here is Horizon: Zero Dawn is on the "good peoples" team now.

Until some ryona fetishist cuts together a video of red-haired bow lady getting trampled to death by the robot elephants or something. Then we can get back to, "ban this sick filth."

No. It was a dumbass talking point pushed forward by assholes (and the errant troll doing it for a larf).

Interesting side-note, though.

The actual study that was used to prove that "Diversity" was somehow needed in video games was done by DIGRA. This is the one that was pushed relentlessly by almost every one of the "Gamers Are Over" articles, and was used to declare the need for inclusion in video games.

It proved the exact opposite. They then proceeded to claim it proved them right anyway, because a plurality of markets (read: customers can buy and enjoy what they want with different genres and markets for each customer to see) was somehow bad for reasons that it never made clear. That's not hyperbole; you can check for yourself.

Wouldn't surprise me if you could dig up some AYYY Team tweets to that effect, but beyond shit-stirrers I've never heard anyone complaining about that. In fact I think Anita Sarkeesian did some screeching about female characters equaling women being denied agency or some such nonsense.
 
I think it was Quake II Arena, a rumor went around that it was harder to hit the female skins because they were smaller (wasn't true, but that was the rumor). Suddenly, all the gamer bros were playing as girls. They didn't give a fuck about gender, they just wanted to win.

The hitboxes were static iirc. So you could visually "miss" and still hit, regardless of what the skin looked like. Or, similarly, with oversized skins, you could visually "hit" but still miss the hitboxes.

Any of you guys ever see the first Pirates of the Caribbean? There's a scene where the female lead Elizabeth goes up to the villain Barbosa and shouts a ton of demands using a bunch of big words as an act of showing she's more intelligent and dignified than the pirates she's captured by.

Barbosa, in response, does the same to her and Elizabeth's reaction is just this confused, broken stare until he clarifies that basically what he said was "No."

Bob, hell, most Leftist cancer in general are Elizabeth. They think that using overly complicated, unnecessary big "I looked in a thesaurus" words instantly make them knowledgeable but then you stand up to that, you push it back in their face, and you make them look stupid and suddenly they always shrink. Always.

MovieBob doesn't even have that half the time though, because every bit of logic he uses is as childish and simple-minded as an edgy middle schooler.
