Calling Bob an actual sociopath may be off the mark. Remember, as far as we know this behavior is limited solely to Twitter. We really know nothing about who he is in real life, so it's entirely possible and honestly probable he just has a bad case of Internet Tough Guyism.

My bet is IRL he's just a pasty, sheepish nerd who rarely expresses any kind of genuinely controversial opinion to someone's face unless he's 100% certain someone will agree with him.

None of those things disqualify someone from sociopathy, the term itself isn't an insult, it just means you got raised in an environment that warped your sense of empathy in a permanent way. I'm not trying to play psychiatrist, but I do think he has more serious underlying problems than it would appear. Some mental illnesses are progressive (lol), so it's possible he's simply getting worse. I didn't know him before gamergate so maybe he used to be semi normal, but he's become a monster, even if he's too lazy to do anything monstrous besides imply that downies and children and senile folks are evil.

I don't think anyone really enjoys dumb people and I think we can all agree that genetically engineering diseases away is a good thing, but Bob is not saying these things. He is saying much worse consistently and he's an adult and he's serious.

The real danger of people like Bob isn't that he inspires hate in his followers. It's that he is stoking the fires of hate in his political enemies, some of whom would happily hunt him and those like him down and leave them charred and hanging from a tree, if only they had the chance and a strong enough rope.

I don't know if you all are aware of it but even 8/pol/ is banning anon for being "too bloodthirsty" right now. Outbreaks of political violence are becoming daily occurances in the US. Bob is not a threat to anyone, but he is a shining example of the type who needs to shut up before he's shut up. People like him and Wesley/Larurelai Bailey seem to have no real awareness of how close we are to everything falling apart. Trump supporters will not let Trump lose. The CIA and deep state will not let Trump win. We're at the point where political commentators are cheering on an unelected shadow government that until recently was considered a conspiracy theory. If we manage to avoid civil war here, we will be very, very, very lucky. Bob and his ilk are only making it worse. I really have no pity for him anymore.

If he's not crazy, he's so stupid it might as well be a form of crazy.

Negative. I have met him in real life. If you don't kiss his ass and elevate him he belittles you and talks down to you. He is, through and through, a giant asshole.

More evidence for my hypothesis that MB got beat up in high school not because he was a socially awkward nerd preyed upon by bullies seeking an easy target, not because he was a super-intelligent nerd whose brains intimidated da jocks and they needed to retake control, but because he was a massive tool.

I don't think Bob is a sociopath or rather Anti social personality disorder as it's medically known, he only really displays 2-3 traits and these are all circumstancial and do not disrupt his ability to function in social IRL outside of losing a job . More genrally he's closer to a Narcisist than anything but even that's a stretch. More honestly he's just an angry man with limited self-awareness and no interal audit. He functions well enough irl to make money and not be arrested. He's just a cunt.

Bob is just a giant spoiled baby, whose MO in life is to whine and whine and whine some more, until his parents give in.
Now he is in his very first "crisis" in life: they're not instating Mommy Rodham no matter how hard he whines, but because he literally knows no other tactic and does not have the adult state of mind of understanding something are not meant to be, he keeps whining nonetheless.

I went and looked it up, here are the 16 signifiers of sociopathy/psycopathy/antisocial personality disorder:

  • Superficial charm and good intelligence - Bob has these.
  • Absence of delusions and other signs of irrational thinking - Bob has these although some would call him irrational, however this would make things even worse for him, not better.
  • Absence of nervousness or neurotic manifestations - I wouldn't call him neurotic or nervous.
  • Unreliability - No one would rely on Bob.
  • Untruthfulness and insincerity -I don't know him well enough to say on this one.
  • Lack of remorse and shame - lol.
  • Inadequately motivated antisocial behavior - I think calling downies evil is antisocial for inadequate motivation.
  • Poor judgment and failure to learn by experience - lol.
  • Pathologic egocentricity and incapacity for love - I think he's capable of love, but incapable of being loved.
  • General poverty in major affective reactions - Don't know him well enough to judge.
  • Specific loss of insight - He seems to be getting worse.
  • Unresponsiveness in general interpersonal relations - Does his NEET life count? He certainly avoids interactions.
  • Fantastic and uninviting behavior with alcohol and sometimes without - His rants about the superior future and how he's the intellectual master race are pretty uninviting.

He wrote a book he always wanted to write. I really don't think he though people would be interested in reading it other than having it as a novelty item or a gag gift

Agree here. Knowing Bob, if he really thought his book was an important read he'd bring it up constantly. I never see him talk about it.
