I don't get how people like bob can claim the "working class" "trump trash" need to be left behind when we're clearly so far away from technology taking over things like farming, construction and energy production. They're hurting pretty bad these days, what with automation and rampant outsourcing, but because a lot of them don't have good educations (because they don't have access to decent resources) the left are content to let them rot.

The reason they support Trump is because he promised them their old jobs back and that he'd fix their problems. Whether or not he's done that is yet to be determined, but the fact is the left ignored them in favor of identity politics, and we all saw how well that turned out. But rather than help the working class, the left would rather turn their noses up at them for supporting the opposing side.

Bob absolutely realizes he's alienating those people. He realizes it and calls others to do the same. He knows full well they're hurting and believes they should just suck it up and evolve.
