Oh shit, you're right, he IS a fan of One More Day. I don't get why he thinks the fans would be that upset about the symbiote story though, it never lasted long and unlike later adaptations it did nothing to Peter's character. I really doubt people would be as upset with that as opposed to OMD or constantly threatening to off the guy for a bland replacement that's very detached from the everyday issues that made Peter popular while marketing hypes up his skin color. I don't know that this can be blamed on Bob. I'm pretty sure the Dethroning Moments got moved to their own subsection because they had become extremely contentious. If I remember right it happened around the same time they scrubbed the Fetish Fuel pages because they were oozing with vile porn.

Tim Allen said while it's not hard getting roles there is an obvious social stigma against Republicans in Hollywood. I imagine it's not much different than your typical university life though: best to just bite your tongue and let your liberal colleagues say what they want unless you want to start an argument
