How will Bob react to seeing the Mario film?

"Durr, the show isn't about Nihlism because Rick isn't always in the right."

What the fuck- A week ago the show had an episode where Rick causes a team of super heroes to kill themselves by forcing them to accept their demons or die. Even in this case, Rick explicitly tries to get these people out alive and they're STILL unable to keep well enough to themselves and prevent each other's deaths. The point of the episode is that Rick is right and brings out the hidden monsters in people, no matter how much they try to disguise it.

What the fuck, that's so basic. It's not even analysis, the creators of the show fucking explain it to you in their post-episode interviews? What the fuck is wrong with Bob's brain that he can't understand things that are so blatantly explained to him?
He doesn't understand how storytelling works as shown by his original ideas or his dream for stories without conflict. Maybe it's :autism:

Okay, calm down Klebold.

P.S. "Your".

He's only saying this because he isn't the one destroying Texas.

Didn't Tarantino disown NBK because he felt Stone butchered it?

Sorry, Bob. Movies fall out of favor just like everything else.

EDIT: Wait a tick. I'm having a delayed case of cognitive dissonance here. Am I crazy or did Bob just have a sneergasm over South Park being nihilistic before missing the point of nihilism in Rick & Morty ... and then, after denouncing nihilistic media, rub his nasty parts in glee over how great Natural Born Killers is? Do I have that right? Is this the stupidest timeline?

What a fucking prick. I don't know exactly what he's yammering about Natural Born Killers but I can just feel his prickishness on my skin, like a pullover made with stinging nettle.

NBK being the "Rosetta Stone" of movies from a villain's POV? Give me a fucking break! Ever heard Taxi Driver? Bonnie and Clyde? Or Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer? What NBK does bring on the table is a critique of mass media, their voyeuristic hunger for "the story" being taken advantage of by the killers. But I don't think Bobby will get this point even after a million viewings: he is so credulous and naively in love with the media that the idea of it being criticized will just shut down his system.

Morty isnt 'affected'? Morty is crumbling morally and psychologically (last episode he tortured someone for breaking up with his sister), that little therapy session made it blunt that summer and morty will never have a positive relationship with their mother and rick will destroy everything he touches.

On a grander scheme the show is crushingly blunt about how pointless life is and how the universe is devoid of higher meaning, south park may not think much of humans but that's because it cares and is disapointed, Rick and morty don't think our potential really matters either way-even if we fuck up and kill our species the universe will continue as always.

More likely Bob just likes Rick and morty better and has to rationalize his distaste of southpark. It's not enough that he doesnt agree or like it-his view has to be fact.

If it didn't happen during Bob's childhood, it doesn't count.

I actually really liked the "Wacky Races" subplot of that episode. Of course, I also really like "Wacky Races."

It's even funnier now to watch it because you start to wonder if it's a meta joke on all the nostalgia wave media we get nowadays.

As for Rick & Morty, that needs to be enshrined in the "moviebob missing the point" hall of fame. It's on the level of watching/read the Narnia series and claiming it's atheistic. No wait, it's on the level of watching "God's Not Dead" and claiming it's an atheist movie. Or Themla & Louise and saying it's a meninist film. Or how Atlas Shrugged promotes communism. Or The Avengers and how teamwork is pointless. How do you miss the structure of the story that bad???

I'm going to laugh even harder if THIS is what finally breaks Bob's audience and his numbers start to drop even faster as everybody realizes they can't trust him about anything anymore.

How about A clockwork Orange, Goodfellas, Wolf of Wallstreet and more? Calling NBK the "rosetta Stone" of film with villainous pov is idiotic. Only a complete tard such as Bob would do that. Does he even know what the rossete stone is?

He called Super Mario Bros 3 the "Rosetta Stone" of video game storytelling... So yeah he has no idea whats he's talking about. Big shock I know.

But there are games out there with way better storytelling even in the Mario franchise itself, like TTYD, Bowser's Inside Story or even Super Mario Galaxy.

Even the simplest of stories can be told in the vein of grandiose epics through careful wording and story structure. For an example half-heartedly thrown in Mario's direction, you could look at the first Paper Mario game.

Shit's basic as fuck, get the seven McGuffin Muffins and beat Bowser. But the story has consistently rising and falling stakes, an investment in the characters, and a soundtrack that properly matches the tone of each scene or space that the characters occupy.

It isn't Shakespeare, but there's a genuine attempt to make a simple story more interesting than not.

When compared to Mario 3, which has no story whatsoever (unless you count the kings subplot which is as inconsequential as the toads in Mario 1), you can clearly see the difference.

MovieBob's idea of storytelling basically is telling me that, as long as Bob doesn't have to think, it's a good story.

Not to mention Suoer Mario Bros. 3 is mostly a repeat of the original's plot. Mario's not exactly a story game and there's other NES era games he could've picked. He could've said something like the original Dragon Quest for it's role in the history of RPGs, a genre that's centered around storytelling and has bled into other genres. Imagine a world where RPGs barely exists outside of tabletop gaming, DQ's a fuck ton more important to vidya storytelling than Mario 3.

He says "Rosetta Stone" when he means "ur-example." Because he's an insecure simpleton who futilely tries to cover up how dumb he is with big words.

Also, as long as we're talking about movies that are some sort of touchstone for stories from the villain's POV, how do we forget White Heat? I'm still trying to figure out how in the world Bob managed a review of something like Kiss Me Deadly when he's so obsessed with garbage from his adolescence.

MovieBob won't know what deep lore in vidya is, even if it reached up and bit him in the ass. If I want storytelling, I would just play Morrowind and read the lore books since that game is story dense. He truly is a fatass nerd stuck in the past.

You're just making me what to see Bob do a playthrough of Morrowind. Like he's forced to finish it and give his thoughts.

And I can guess he'll constantly be called an "N'wah" or a "S'wit" over and over again(providing if he doesn't play as a Dark Elf, I think.).

:offtopic: You're still called that as a Dunmer since you're still a foreigner. He'd probably try to describe the plot as having to do with white people/Trump or something because of the hostility to outsiders, vaguely Islamic elements, and not paying attention to know what a Dagoth Ur is.

Nah dude, you have to hit him with a genre he relates to. (One outside of eating, so McKids is out.)

Ninja Gaiden pushed the envelope for story-telling in video games by including cutscenes that were specifically tailormade to further the plot. It was pretty groundbreaking for the time.

That alone pushed the boundries more than the safety net of a Mario game ever could at the time.
