Well Silver and Bronze Age. The whole idea of different Earths came form Flash in the early 1960's to explain how different Flashes could meet each other and how different members of the JSA and JLA could meet up.

Yeah - Earth 2 Bruce died a few years before Crisis. His daughter Helena had her history wiped out by Crisis, then died during the end along with the Earth 2 Robin, the first Dove, Kole, and the Ten-Eyed Man (yes, there was such a character. He had his optic nerves reconnected to his fingertips, so he could see via his hands. Wiping after using the toilet must have been traumatizing for him)
