He never considers escalation or consequance, even if you're okay with beating Nazi's how long before said Nazi's start retaliating? How long before some poor guy gets kicked to the death because the goosteppers buddy got punched in the dick and now they've got a rationale?

Things can't escalate if you kill all your enemies first in the name of the Superior Future. Just nuke them all or something before rounding up the ones living in the places that matter. Who could disagree with such Superior measures to ensure worthwhile human evolution? ;)

It all makes sense when you consider the "Culture" of these people. Bob and his SJW friends live and breath, and have been raised on, dreck like Marvel Capeshit and Disney Star Wars. Utterly Black and White tales where the oppressive bad guys do bad things just cause and fall over if the heroes even look at them funny. Good Guys are Smart. Bad Guys are Stupid. Evil Cannot Comprehend Good. If Captain America punches Nazis, why shouldn't We punch "Nazis"? If you think thats insanely autistic remember this is Bob and Millennials we are talking about here.

But at some point you have to graduate to more mature media, don't you? Whether it's reading Lord of the Rings for the first time and coming across Samwise's somber thoughts on what had made the young dead Easterling soldier join Sauron's cause; or getting into film noir and seeing there are no purely good guys; or, and I can't believe the millennial autists don't cling to this one, seeing Return of the Jedi and Vader being redeemed ... don't these people get tired of pure black and white silliness after awhile?

Maybe they don't. I don't follow the Dobson thread much anymore, because it's just an unending flood of unbelievable bullshit, but I do remember him hating on things like The Sopranos and Breaking Bad. But I thought he was the exception.

Bobby lives in a video game world, where "good guys" don't die and NPCs will always be alive to give you quests.

Would that really help though? Even their Star Wars/Marvel/Harry Potter loves involves making those things even more black and white in their head. Star Wars has had media that depicts people who genuinely had their lives improved by Emperor Palpatine that got fucked over by his removal and Marvel has become notorious for their heroes becoming out of touch celebrities who beat the shit out of each other for little reason (One actual villain mocked them for this as he conquered Alaska while everyone was punching each other for being secret Nazis).

If they moved on to more mature media, you're only getting names being different and even grander oversimplifications. The problem is they can't understand morality in general.

The first principle of these types is laziness. Good guys - bad guys - punch bad guys, is the essence of simplistic thought, I could write a computer program to do that in less than a minute. How do you know who's good or bad? People I like are good, people I don't like are bad! I forgot where but I remember reading somewhere that a mark of maturity was realizing that sometimes your personality will clash with others' but that doesn't make them bad people. You can just not get along with somebody perfectly decent.

Ironically Bob et al would make perfect outlines for villain characters. Ex. "No bad tactics" is practically Lex Luthor's modus operandi and he's always going on about how Superman is holding mankind back from a superior future.

Bob is severely developmentally stunted though. Not just that he can't handle moral ambiguity, no he displays outright contempt for any media that tries to portray a morally gray situation. I can't even begin to count the number of times he's tweeted, "I sure hope x movie doesn't go the sympathetic, downtrodden villain route" almost verbatim. I'm fairly certain that was one of his stupid criticisms of Spider-Man Homecoming to give an example from recent memory.

You'd think he would black and white shit is super boring. Maybe he watches that stuff and rationalizes everything the good/bad guy does and just put them in "sure he did this bad thing but it was justified because he is the good guy"
Nowadays it's pretty hard to avoid the gray area of things and you need to actually try to avoid it if you watch shows every now and then. I think even games have started to go down the route of no pure good/bad guys.

To be fair the "sympathetic, downtrodden villain" can be every bit as grating as the pure evil villain, especially when the narrative does not take time building rapport between the character with the audience, and rely on us being on her side by virtue of some "tragic back story". But in the case of Spiderman - Homecoming, one can clearly see why Bob is not on board with the villain -- as a small-time businessman he is an Obsolete element of the Inferior Past, and how dare he compete with the multinational, pee o'sea-friendly Tony Stark enterprise?!

Tries to rate :feels: and :optimistic: at the same time.

Bob shows us what would have happened had Quixote possessed twitter.

Man never knew how lucky he was.

That's a quote from Bob?

I mean this pun: GodDAMN that boy's worldview. No, Bob, if anything Superman becomes even more heroic and moral if the universe is wicked to the core. Freakin' Joe Kelly :powerlevel: who I actually disagree with politically :powerlevel: wrote one of the best damn Superman stories EXPLAINING THIS VERY POINT! (Grant Morrison also had a similar idea in another pretty good comic.)

In fact they had a comic with your moral view.

How can Bob take the core of a good idea (Superman should be hopeful & protecting) and fuck it up to insanity?

Because Bob is legitimately the stupidest person without brain damage or a personality disorder that I have ever fucking seen. I find it hard to express in words how dumb he is, there is no word sufficiently contemptible to describe it. He is a black hole of fucking retardation that shreds any intelligent thought. He is dumb as dogshit and how he even got hired to write anything just goes to show how low the fucking bar is.

A-Log me if you must, but I have nothing but contempt for this fat piece of dogshit. Glorifying eugenics, dreaming about exterminating people when your entire body is wasting away from diabetes because you are too fucking stupid to stop eating.

Bob is stuck in a Highschool mentality. He isn't brain damaged, he's not developmentally disabled, the reason why I have so much contempt for him is that he chooses to remain there. This stupid faggot lets the 'bullies' define his life and has disappeared so much into escapist fantasy land, he cannot comprehend understanding anything but the simplest of morality tales. He is a child that has no concept of critical thinking or morally gray areas. He escapes into superheroes because they're generally black and white tales. He talks big on twitter, but that's all it is, another escapist fantasy to him.

You want this cocksucker to understand film noir, where even the heroes are imperfect? No fucking way. The amount of butchery he would do to the genre would be jaw-dropping. We're talking about a guy who thinks Suckerpunch is a good movie. Because the girls get to go away into an escapist fantasy land and murder bad people.

Wasn't that the original Mario RPG? He was on your freakin' team.
Most Mario spin-offs do so. It's rarer for Bowser to be shown as a straight up villain rather than some clownish jerk everyone is kinda friends with because he's all hot air. They fight but eh, the guy owns a pretty cool go-kart track he lets you use on the weekends.

You know, I don't think we say this enough. For all of the horrible bile he spews out there's one constant above all else: Bob is stupid.

This is the man who thinks Captain N and the Super Mario Bros. Super Show are God's gift to man. Who thinks Spider-Man 2 is the pinnacle of cinematic achievement. The man who compared the console wars to 'Nam without a hint of irony. The man who can't understand why living in a basement surrounded by toys is pathetic. The man who can't understand why skipping your own grandmother's funeral to buy an air conditioner is a shitty thing to do. The man who thinks marriage is like a horrible 50s sitcom. The man who told gamers they needed to get in shape before giving himself diabetes from eating too many goddamn cookies. The man who thinks intelligence and morality are the same thing. The man who thinks everyone in the American Midwest is simultaneously a toothless KKK cross burner and a Call of Duty obsessed dude bro. The man who thinks Hillary Clinton could and would have converted the moon into a wheat growing paradise in eight years tops. The man who constantly dismisses people over minor typos when he clearly has no idea how punctuation works. The man who thinks, "Winners don't do drugs" was a conspiracy to make you use drugs. The man who thinks GamerGate was organized political conspiracy to elect Trump. This is the man who thinks FIRST PERSON SHOOTERS DID NINE-ELEVEN!

The fact that Bob is an actual person and also hasn't managed to kill himself in hilarious fashion astonishes me. Jesus Christ.
