How will Bob react to seeing the Mario film?

They actually named an SJW character REE REE?

That isn't even the icing on the cake. I don't think I can even begin to describe just how unbelievably bad a character RiRi Williams is. She, America Chavez and Squirrel Girl are literally Lolcows in comic book form. That's what Marvel is spitting out as A-list product these days.

NO NO nononononononononono...

You can't describe it. Only pictures will do:

She's actually complaining about not being oppressed!

One more thing Bob and Dobson have in common is that they'll both sperg endlessly about Batman, only Bob calls The Dark Knight "fascistic" and "insanely overrated" and tries way too hard as showing he knows the history of Batman.

BvS was a terrible interpretation of Batman (Batman's accepted he couldn't save his parents long ago: his survivor's guilt mostly revolves around the people who have died/been scarred forever by his crusade, like Babs, Harvey, and Jason) and Bob's hot takes on the Batman character are shit you'd find a contrarian spouting on /co/. I bet he'd consider The Long Halloween some kind of fascist manifesto.

Holy shit! He should legally change his name to "Bob Chiponmyshoulder", the boy cannot conceive of any disagreement to his views. Way to be an asshole, Bob - Nick Gaynor definitely came off better in that exchange.

You know, I have no problem with finding a wildly popular work -- critically or otherwise -- to be insanely overrated. I myself think The Catcher in the Rye is the most overrated novel of the 20th century. (No I'm not going to get into why I think Holden Caulfield is a whining bag of dicks.) But you gotta back that shit up, friendo. And Bob is totally incapable of doing that, except to snidely talk about all the comics he's read. Read, but apparently not understood.

Also: "I'm older now than my father ever was." Incredibly well written? Is he on fucking whippets, or crack or what? Because that is nothing even mildly interesting or insightful or even all that uncommon a sentiment. You know who used to say that and make it mean something? Goddamn MICKEY MANTLE. Except in his case it was his excuse -- and one he regretted -- for why he drank himself into needing two new livers in his late middle age. So congratulations, Bob, your incredibly well-written line is nothing but a boozy ballplayer's lament.

Not that I should expect a Boston Blobby to know a Yankees story, I guess. Ah well. *lifts one to The Mick*

That Nick guy may turn out to be a nice dude, but he's definitely a pussy.. You don't meekly let Bob overtake you with his sperging, you tell him to his face that he's a fat virgin who is only a pony tail away from being the real-life version of Comicbook Guy..

"All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain." That is a fantastically well written (albeit ad-libbed) line by a character Bob, not whatever generic movie line you highlighted. I honestly believe the only reason Bob has a hate boner for the Dark Knight Trilogy is simply because he perceives only Dude-bros are the ones who love them and not the take on the Batman characters and the more realistic Gotham.

You think Bob is hoping Ben Affleck's response to the Harvey Weinstein scandal will affect the box office numbers for Justice League?

This is anecdotal, but my Mom is as much of a moderate as they come, and doesn't really watch superhero movies. She absolutely adores the Nolan movies, to the point where it's probably her favorite film trilogy. For all of his complaining and posturing towards really understanding Batman, deep down he's salty that for a lot of people, the Nolan Batman is the Batman to them, and not just his strawmanned enemies.
