To be fair, RLM took 90+ minutes for each of the Star Wars prequels. The difference being 1) the prequels were an epic disaster that shit on what was pretty indisputably the most beloved film franchise of the 1980s (yes yes, the original was 1977, but Star Wars was an 80s phenomenon if ever there was one), 2) RLM actually knows how to make an entertaining short film, and 3) there's a tremendous amount of analysis and insight into structure, the cynical marketing of the films, and other technical aspects instead of 90 minutes of fanboy sperging about how bad Jar-Jar sucked.

I suppose something similar could be going on here. I tend to doubt it, though.

If you think about it, as much as Plinkett said about Star Wars, he went through it in a pace that was easy to follow and he rather deconstructed the prequels as badly executed story than anything else. Even suggesting how to make things better or elaborating why things were weird.

Bob goes into the spiel where he talks about how killing Jimmy Olsen in the extended cut of the movie was a fuck you to first generation fans who saw in Jimmy a surrogate character for themseklves to imagine themselves as superman's sidekick and other typical manchild bullcrap, where the typical obesed internet fanboy goes into overly long meaningless "philosophical" rants about the source of their grudge being like a crime against human decency in itself.

I mean Bob's main problem is that he comes from the deconstructionist angle where he has nothing but piss and vinegar, except in these long and drawn out videos is a prime time to try to actually try to suggest what could have been done in each scene to improve the movie. Also, lets simply remember it didn't matter the director that movie was given, the amount of stuff that film was trying to do wasn't going to make the best film, much like The Watchmen.

How potato is his computer that it takes 4 or 5 hours to render an 85 minute video? I've got a piece of shit I built from 5 years ago and it's taken me maybe 2 and a half to do a 90 minute thing pared down from about 10 hours of footage.
