Oh, he's gonna be patronizing all right.
Shame Roy Moore didn't put that in a campaign ad...

i would say bob is SORT OF right, the two alice books do have many nods to many things that would have been known to a person in that time in that part of the world (I think an old advertising slogan is referenced in the second book) it doesn't stick out, it's worked into the story. even then the cultural references have to share space with puns, mathematical references, and a few nods to carrol's interest in language.Alice in Wonderland is a "pop-culture melange"?! Which caterpillar is he smoking?
Here’s some Alabama Americana for you, MuuhvieBaahb.Oh, he's gonna be patronizing all right.
Why is Bob so fixated on comics he doesn't read and it's clear he has no interest in the characters with how he goes on about the MCU that does not feature anyone from Nu-Marvel (except "Captain Marvel" soon)? Sure, "representation" or whatever but many of those had like under 10,000 copies sent to stories so it's not like anyone was reading them and ending up "empowered". They were only notable for getting in the news a few times because the "shocking" additions that aren't even firsts most of the time, only shitting the bed to the point where EiC got fired.Bob's indulging in his favorite pastime of comparing Gamergaters to LITERAL NAZIS.

Bob's twitter said said:fixates on a [thing] for children like it's a sacred text
No, my Dad's got the same kind of thing. You can tell by the sticker in the bottom right corner. It's a space heater with some plastic logs.
Oh, that explains everything!
...
...wait, this isn't an astronaut fireplace, is it? I hope that wasn't part of Bob's reasoning for buying this.
"space heater"="heater from space" recontext joke.I thought space heaters were a more universal concept? Like my Dad bought his because our house had really shitty heating and the big open rooms were just cold in the frozen north. Ours is also pretty safe compared to a space heater. We use it as a T.V. stand and keep the DVDs and wargames next to it. So Bob's an idiot. But he gets a free pass this time
Hmm... sure you want to keep going down that road of condemnation, Bob?
Also, way to use the "Hitler ate sugar" fallacy, idiot. Given how well we've seen your demonstrated understanding of pop culture, I can just imagine how mangled your history is. (in fact, I've sent it to a history professor friend of mine, let's see if he still talks to me later)

Is it though, Bob? You still push the notion that they should be gassed or die off in general.Bob Chipman: overthinking memes since 2013.
