How will Bob react to seeing the Mario film?

In a different environment where his parents and the internet didn't tell him he were smart or special he'd be a frat boy or some (obsolete) blue collar slob downing PBR after a day laying asphalt.

A Bob who spent his days laying asphalt would be contributing infinitely more to the public weal than the Bob we have now.

Well you won't shut up about it so...

Heck, has Bob ever talked about any Black and White films outside of maybe the monster movies of the 30s? I mean there is obviously shit back there too, but there are wonderful films including fantastic adaptions of books like The Grapes of Wrath, Of Mice and Men, and of course To Kill a Mockingbird.

I'm totally sure he also clapped when he saw Baxter Stockman being black in the '03 and the '12 series instead of whitey Baxter from the '87 cartoon, because racial diversity and all that, only to (maybe) find out that he was black in the original comics as well.

Didn't he do a review of Kiss Me Deadly at some point? I remember because it stuck out like a sore thumb.

Well, films from that time were in the obsolete past, therefore the films themselves are probably obsolete to Bob. Doesn't matter that we get most of cinema's bag of tricks, from the close-up to the moving camera from the earliest phases of cinema. They're to be replaced by the colorful future where all films are about people in colorful plastic suits punching each other to stop a laser, which is somehow "relevant" to current events.

He did, and iirc, he ragged on the auteur theory because how dare directors leave personal stamps on their work.
I would be really surprised if Bob was driven to momentary self awareness by the vitriol he got from that and decided to never do it again because it made him look like a moron publicly.

But really? Doesn't surprise me that he's anti-auteur theory. All the movies he commits time to talking about are big, expensive, designed-by-committee and focused grouped to give the maximum return on investment. He doesn't have time for personal touches.

Well if that is the case, then he should burn all copies of Brick By Brick because his personal stamp is pathetic, sad, and insane with the clear anger issues, comparing the unveiling of Mario 3 to 9/11, and calling the console wars of the early 90's his personal Vietnam as it his hyperbole would be an incredibly autistic Hunter S. Thompson.

There's a nauseating picture of him at some con, lecturing a couple of starry-eyed youngsters about the importance of Citizen Kane. So he does feel compelled to pay lip service at least to widely accepted views on film history.

My biggest problem with bob and all people who want to forget the past is that: people will continue to repeat the mistakea of the past, if the lessons of the past are forgotten. Yet there is now a whole narrative about wiping away the past, and will problably end in history repeating itself. It bothers me because we build on top of the past its the groundwork. Yet a lot of people want to either hide it, or change it to the point where the lessons wont mean anything. This is a scary thought at least to me.

Bob prefers committee-designed pabulum that's been pre-digested for him and other children like him.

He is disturbed by things created by a talented individual, because he knows he'll never be one.

These are the new Turtle designs, including Black April, that he was talking about.

Not gonna lie, I think these look ugly too. I have no idea what's going on with Leonardo's teeth, Donatello looks off, and Splinter is just wrong.

That said, Bob claims that it "undermines the 4 different types of turtles gimmick" which is blatantly wrong. Each of them looks distinct and for the most part you can tell their personalities just by looking at them. One of the big problems of the older series is that they looked identical beyond the different colored headbands; would you ever be able to tell that Donatello was the tech geek by just looking at him?

Seems to me that Bob doesn't want to give credit to the show fixing a legit problem that's been around since the series' inception.

For Donny, I think it’s his weird cube head. Also he kinda looks sinister.

Even the 2012 series fixed that problem.

Well this is the man who argued that no potential new fans of a long running series should ever start at the beginning and instead start at the most recent development and use wikis to catch up. Which is exactly how misinformation spreads.

He argued extremely poorly then. There's guides, and recommendations list on where to start. One google search should have done that. But once again asking research from Bob is like asking Jesus to turn water into wine. We are asking the impossible.

So...No comment on Baxter Stockman, Or Bebop from the 2012 show? No? Okay.

Well, there you have it. Another episode of Bob knowing Jackshit about the things he's talking about. But in all seriousness. I'm stunned how much Bob didn't address any of those two since they were very present in the 2012 show, and were black characters. Which tells me he didn't see it pass its announcement. And I'll bet, this show will follow the same fate with our fatass lowcow.

I'm seriously wondering if Bob has reached that plateau of intersectionality and thirst where black dudes don't count; it's black wimmins we need if we are to be sufficiently woke.

I actually think it's more telling that 1980s April, who was pure sex in a yellow jumpsuit, has been replaced with a frumpy, smirking homunculus, regardless of color.

Bebop was black, and Rocksteady was gay.
