1. Rather egotistic to assume your mediocre tweets on an over hyped superhero movie would give you any new followers.

2. If you want to show your detractors you are actually well vested in film culture and don't just go on Reddit desperately finding obscure films to reference between only going to see Marvel and Animated films. Surely you can do better than a Wong Jing film.

Earlier today, Adam of YMS uploaded a review of Black Panther.

What's interesting is that he criticizes adults using Black Panther for their politics when it's just "a kids movie made to sell toys" as he puts it. He repeatedly points out it's for children and says that it's a shame Black Panther is being used as a high watermark for predominately black movies when movies like 12 Years a Slave and Moonlight already exist.

His criticisms fit Bob to a T, from using a children's film to exploit his really stupid politics to ignoring all the fantastic black-directed movies in favor of a disposable popcorn flick.

I've seen 12 Years a Slave and it's a fantastic film. Then again, it helps that I know a lot of people who are historians.

And he also can't wrap his head around the concept of a redesign.

Disney will never have a LGBT lead superhero film. Much like how they will never make an R-Rated film. Disney is all about the brand rather than the actual product. Black Panther for example got made not because a young black filmmaker wanted to tell a story with long term artistic merit. But because it was manufactured and tweaked to be appeal to every single schmuck it could. To get corporate sponsorships and Happy Meal toys. Any attempt to actually take these films in an actual bold or interesting direction such as genre shifts or hiring more risky directors or writers would mean possibly alienating a potential customer. Disney won't have that.
