The man has no fucking vision either. He just latches on to a trend like a lamprey and boasts that he is some sort of insightful visionary when he is a brain-dead demagogue who will parrot whatever his in-group or favourite corporation tell him to think.

Oh, and I find the idea of Bob winning a round of fisticuffs laughable. Tell me, Bob, when was the last time you got some exercise? And know, climbing up the stairs to pick up the pizza from the deliveryman does not count. I would be surprised if he had that much muscle mass to speak of and what remained has atrophied to near uselessness. Also, given that diabetes can lead to blindness, I doubt he would be able to hit his target or even see a fist before it hit him in the face. He would get curb-stomped in a fight, and to be frank, I would like to see it happen. He is prideful to the point of delusion and there would be something satisfying in seeing his illusion of invulnerability shattered.

I agree that Bob is too impotent and ridiculous to be worthy of genuine hatred or violent threats (though wishing for him to get his comeuppance doesn't quite cross that line, I think) -- seriously, any time you think Bob is deserving of real scorn, take another look at the Mario pic or his Captain N cosplay. That said, I think he generates such raw bad feeling because he never, ever backs down if he thinks he's going up against a Wasteland Ghoul or a Goobergraper; and because he manages to generate no sympathy whatsoever.

The only thing I can ever remember feeling any drop of sympathy for him about was losing his dad. And he torpedoed that by sperging about Ilsa, She-Wolf of the SS and getting right back into his usual habits within 72 hours of the old man passing. He seethes with constant vitriol, he sneers at anyone who dares disagree with him, he pretends to be a Deep Thinker while practicing the shabbiest intellectual dishonesty imaginable, and he puts himself on a pedestal for, essentially, yammering about pop culture on the internet all day.

IMO, It's more that you can't easily find any good character traits with Bob, you always need to dig deep, and you know you will get very little for your effort. Off the top of my head, I remember people remarking a few pages back that Bob genuinely tries to be a good uncle to his niece, and I agree. He also seems like he cares for his family, even if he is an autist who clearly can't handle any kind of vulnerable or awkward family moment like a normal person.

In short, Bob is an asshole, but there are some atoms of good in the supermassive black hole that is his personality. I myself had a similar moment in the Michael Hirtes thread, where someone came in and put things into perspective for me, and I want to pay it forward to other Kiwis..

Oh no I agree with you completely. When I say Bob is a bad person I mean that he is just a "small" weak person who spews piss and bile while being a hilarious failure himself.
