Say what you want about beauty standards, but we're attracted to physically fit people because they've historically had the best chance of survival. Whether it's outrunning predators in caveman times, or not having a massive heart attack in modern times, fit people usually live longer.
Unfortunately, I don't see Bob's diet changing, even if he has a massive heart attack. He unironically chastised gamers for not exercising enough, so he is either deluded into thinking he's physically fit, or doesn't care.

I know we like to trot this interview out now and again, but this is the one where Bob's belief systems (at least his early belief systems) are laid out by an old friend of his (who used to belong to the same hard left online group . )

In summary, it seems Bob's an atheist, but one who thinks reality is something that can be shaped by an individual's beliefs. Oh, and Mario is his Jesus.
