How will Bob react to seeing the Mario film?

This is why I'm not taking his calls to boycott the MCU seriously. He cares more about these movies then anything else in his life. And the next MCU film is going to be a golden opportunity for him to sperg SJW talking points much like Black Panther was.

The mere suggestion that he could ever give these films up or avoid talking about them is laughable. I have a better chance of believing that Bob will grow a pair of wings and fly then I do of him legitimately boycotting Marvel and Disney.
I know for sure he’ll still see Gotg3 regardless if they have Gunn back or not and he’ll praise the shit out of it like the other ones.

But what I’m trying to comprehend is why Bob won’t acknowledge that Gunn screwed himself over with those tweets.

Which prompts the question: when the Marvel thing inevitably runs out of steam (whose law is it that says "things that can't go on forever, don't?") will Bob jump ship when the time comes, or will he be bitterly clinging to property denying everything even as it slips beneath the waves of staggering irrelevance?

E: To avoid double posting:

Depends. If it features Adam Warlock (as is generally accepted) he might use that- the blond-haired, gold-skinned ubermensch- as an excuse to bash the movie as "crypto-fascist dogwhistling to DRUMPF and GLOOBLEGLORP." It would make for a convenient get-out-of-mental-jail-free card.

Is this the beginning of the butthurt boycott?

I like MCU movies and Black Panther doesn't deserves an Oscar nod you stupid fat virtue signaling cunt. Also while reaction videos are asinine you're a fucking movie reviewer you're god damn "Job" is reacting to shit so quit acting like you're above it.

Bob's mouth is already leaking foam from it. It's clear he has lost all sense of self-control. Gunn moved on from this, and Chipman refuse to accept this. Him going to all this shit makes it easy to ridicule him, and his fat sized ego.

It's an interesting question and I wouldn't bet on it. Either Bob's fanboy attachment will be too strong, or he is just stupid enough to think that his turning away is somehow a gesture worth making.

Okay bob, first of all, I loved Black Panther (though I will admit it had flaws, MOSTLY just the bad effects in that one final fight), but it is hardly an Oscar worthy movie. Like, hell, I liked Infinity War even more, and even that isnt worthy of am Oscar. The CLOSEST marvel has come to producing an Oscar worthy movie is Winter Soldier, but even that really only warrants a nod, not a win.

Second, you are the LAST person who needs to be using Comic Book Guy in a conversation. You ARE the friggin Comic Book Guy, with your petty arrogance and bloated sense of self importance.

Bob's "fanboy attachment" is one of the odd aspects of him IMO at least. I can buy it being something that grew out of his attachment to the Raimi movies and possibly old cartoons but it manifests itself in a strange way. Mostly cause he keeps insisting he's some "expert" and then gets MCU plots off enough that I assume he half-watched them while tweeting. As for the source material, he relies heavily on internet articles to "prove" he read it but also insists "It doesn't matter". He just gets butthurt when someone points out Onslaught looks nothing like the "winged monster" he describes.

I just don't get it. Both in the sense of why can't he just read the source material that should take him like a year or less since he has nothing better to do AND the fact he seems to have attracted other people who don't read comics that circlejerk each other in them being unable to understand stories none of them read. He's like a weird version of the "fake nerd girl" stereotype.

Is there a word for a reverse-:neckbeard:?

He really expects the worst from christians, does he.

Over here the majority of catholics are disgusted with the sexual abuse commited by the church, to the point that some of them are becoming Protestants, it has been a scandal for more than a decade over here, and just now the justice system is doing something about it.

Fuck you Bob.

It's kind of a pattern, innit? Writes a book about a Mario game, fails to show any significant insight, fails to demonstrate his claimed expertise in a stream; his reviews wobble between banal (Pixels isn't good, really) and wrong (Black Panther deserves an Oscar); comments on social issues when he's never lived on his own, with inevitable hilarious results; shoots his videos terribly even though he somehow bumbled his way to a degree. The man can do nothing but feign expertise.

and make us laugh, face palm, cry tears of salt and rage at his incompetence/smugness

I want to preface with the Serenity Prayer, "God grant me the serenity to accept what I cannot change, the courage to change what I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."

Alcoholics Anonymous popularized this prayer and I believe it to be quite relevant because Bob will never, ever humble himself before God or total strangers. He is psychologically incapable of realizing that he is a nobody to The Walt Disney Company and that they control Marvel, not the consumers. No matter how much he wails #RehireJamesGunn on Twitter, Disney will never cave in because he has no leverage. He is that child who threatens to hold his breath when their mother refuses to buy them a new toy.

What he can--and, naturally, refuses to--do is boycott Marvel. Honestly I don't give a fuck if it's his job to review movies. If he truly sees this as his moral imperative, then he should put his principles before money. Encourage others to join in because a corporation is only going to respond if you hit them in the purse strings. The reason why Bob refuses to do is because of A) his loyalty to the Marvel brand, and B) he is a fucking coward because he knows that his calls for a boycott are doomed to fail on some level. Very few people care about James Gunn because directors are as replaceable as a supervisor at his local Mickey D's. The audience only cares about the product and Marvel has shown a willingness to replace directors in the past.

In the end, Bob is going to go to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 directed by God knows who at least three times and still caterwaul Gunn's "unjust" firing. Meanwhile, Disney will just laugh at him because they already have his money.
