How will Bob react to seeing the Mario film?

He is, he even flew out all the way to Minnesota for the reunion and asked them the thesis of his IBWT episode about how he thinks younger people can't relate to MST3K anymore.

Quelle surprise, they disagree.

I'm probably reading into it, but to me those expressions looked one step from "you shittin' me, brah?"

"And that's how I rationalize living in a basement."

I'd say this also helps to perpetuate negative stereotypes, namely that fat people are all lazy and entitled.

They also have weird fixations on the moon, so that's something else they could talk about.

I'd say Donnie Yen could be your Big Brother. The man could use another punching bag.

This is an extremely stupid idea to me. I didn't discover MST3K until high school, which was like 15 years after the show was cancelled the first time around. And you know what I did? I showed it to my friends, and my friends all adored the show.

Yeah, that's anecdotal, but MST3K's appeal lies in the fact that it does what we all love doing: mocking bad movies. Even people I knew who weren't that into movies loved the show.

I do so love when he expounds from the storied heights of his community college film studies degree.
I'm sincerely curious what the requirements are for that degree considering Bob's established difficulties retaining information from films he's seen and his habit of faking expertise. It's possible those traits developed later but I don't know. It's more an arrogance thing then anything.

At a guess? Probably some bullshit long-winded essays that he got a frustration B+/A- on (imagine trying to grade his drivel without wanting to shoot yourself) and a few video projects that were, by community college standards, "passable." I seriously doubt he ever had to buckle down for an objective exam.

I'm sure the Nobel Prize winner is the stupid one and the fat autistic blob living in a basement is the secret genius.

In all fairness, Krugman is a moron in his own way. He's the Kurt Eichenwald of the economic field.

Knowing Bob, he did the bare minimum in order to pass. I imagine he might of been one of those students who spent a lot of time in their professors office in the last chunk of the semester negotiating a way to earn a passing grade. He might of also been one of those types who used sub stories in order to get his professors to feel bad for him.

Do we know where Bob's diploma is from? It would help shed light on the type of program he had to deal with.

I don't know. Mike Nelson seems to have conservative leanings (unlike Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett). Plus there was this segment, which Mike may have a hand in.

Mike is like the definitive midwesterner and seemingly conservative (though I've never seen him make a huge deal of it). I don't see what Bob would find to like about him.
