Also in Dumber Alive (one of his worst videos, quite the competitive field), he acts like he's over console wars and shows Nintendo marketing campaigns, as if his very first Overthinker video doesn't have him saying "Mario is the gold standard, Miyamoto is God, SSBB is the best thing since Jiggle Physics" (and then shows footage of DOAX3's predecessor DOAX2 in a positive light, as if to go "Would you check out those graphics! As a Halloween fan, I actually don't mind the Rob Zombie version. It's not on par with the first few, but I felt like it was done good for a modern day take on the franchise.

That being said though, that entire spiel he retweeted is wrong. The franchise was already a huge success before Zombie did the reboot, and it didn't need to be put "back on the map" so to speak. Sure, the last few movies before the Zombie reboot did suck and they may have caused the production of new movies in the franchise to come to a standstill. But they didn't derail the franchise as bad as these two are making it sound. The Halloween films were still a big deal, and even without Zombie they would of likely been rebooted anyway because that's what Hollywood liked to do at the time with known horror franchises.

Bob and this other asshole are making it sound like the Halloween franchise wouldn't be a thing today if it wasn't for the Rob Zombie film. I don't want to sell his film short because I don't think it's a bad movie, but it's not the most important Halloween film either.

The original is a straight up classic. Don’t care about the other ones though except for the Zombie version and it’s sequel, which I think weren’t that bad but not great.
