I swear Bob is growing more like Chris-chan by the day. What are Chris-chan's creations, after all, but mashups, remixes and recolors of established characters, living in an imaginary crossover fantasy world that he made up? At least Chris-chan keeps his OCs somewhat close in personalities to their original sources. MovieBob can't help but warp and twist his characters' moralities so that good, kind, simple working class folk are turned into villainous bigots and snobbish, egotistical villains are turned into sympathetic anti-heroes.
And here's an interesting article I found. Turns out Bob's Superior Future isn't going to be fueled by robots after all, but Chinese slave peasants, who've already sucked a huge amount of wealth and opportunity from America's middle and working classes, prompting said classes to vote in the Trumpocalypse:

No wonder elitists like Bob are panicking in the wake of Trump's election. No cheap Chinese labor, no more cheap tech and no more stuffing his face with McNuggies while looking down his nose at hardscrabble third-generation American laborers standing in the local unemployment line.

Why Bob acts like a etlist, he sure isn’t one. He’s not rich nor notable enough to be a elitist. Sure, he spews “Love Trumps Hate”, political-correctness, pro illegal immigrant, anti-Russian hysteria like the rest of them, but he’s in a basement and not in a mansion.
There’s two upcoming things that would make Bob whine harder than Trump’s election that are happening all in the same time in two weeks.
- The Republicans retain majority of both the House and Senate and have more seats thanks to the Kavanaugh shitshow, which pretty much torpedoed any last hope for the Democrats and despite the sperging from the super liberal millennials and gen-Z’s about voting. November 6 will be a great night to see his twitter.
- The Chinese regulators vote to either block the Disney-Fox merger or not. It was supposed to be on last Friday but it got pushed back because of EU stuff. (Off-topic: Hollywood Reporter just did a article about it on Wendnesday https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ho.../will-china-try-block-disney-fox-deal-1152832). Not sure how blocking the deal would damage the economy and both companies, but I would love to see Bob twist it to blame Trump and his supporters in whatever mental gymnastics he’ll pull out.

Bob is like a Dickensian villain who dresses up in a grotesque parody of upper class clothing (although Bob's wardrobe is decidedly not even lower-middle-class; with Bob it's his nigh aphasic vocabulary that fills that role), but who is actually a street-dwelling booze-swilling ogre, driven purely by envy, spite, and delight in seeing the suffering of those who've wronged him, even if the wrong was only in his imagination.

We all know Bob has a gnat's attention span but is there any other movie right now claiming to be a movie for "BIG THINKERS" cause they set up one thing and then....they didn't do it?
I think it's a safe bet that Bob has no clue what subversion means and just clings to it since it makes people he hates mad. You can handwave any bad movie to be a "subversion of audience expectations".

Yeah and the thing with Halloween subverting expectations is that they made sense and the filmmakers weren't touting how smart they were for doing that.
Bob somehow thinks it's on the same level and tries to twist those subversions as some meta-commentary on fanboys and while the film was a bit meta on it's commentary, it was making fun of the other films in the series rather than the fanboys.

Not a big movie and not "right now," but I think Chan is Missing (1982) really pulled it off - it's a "Missing person or murder" film with an ending that had me shocked. Subverted my expectations, even. And yet it fit the situation, and I'd even call it realistic.
Sorry to keep bringing up really awesome examples of subverted expectations, but it just annoys me when people try to pretend it's the same as "disappointing."
