To be fair, The Escapist handled the events around GamerGate pretty well. One of the first things their chief editor did was to make a public statement that they take the complaints to heart and that they'll do their best to be more transparent in the future. And while words come cheap at least it's considerably more mature than the knee-jerk "Gamer culture needs to die!" rhetoric many other sites employed in response to criticism. I think they also hosted some interviews of some of the leading figures of GamerGate so at least they let them present their side of the story.
Yahtzee Croshaw who, generally speaking, seems to be a pretty cool guy is also mature enough not to pick a side on this and neither did Jim Sterling. The only one who really started to sperg out over it is, obviously "Movie"Bob Chipman and he got his deserved backlash.
