This is already a contradiction of terms. Postmodernism doesn't believe in any objective rubric that assign superiority and inferiority. Everyone is "equal" yet "different". Hence there cannot be such thing as an "elite".

You'd think Democrats would support a policy like this since a lot of these "food deserts" exist in heavily black areas.

Wars and Poverty are trending down because people who suffered under those things toughened up and made some pretty hard choices/ sacrifices. When people stop making those choices/sacrifices, the environment trends towards war and poverty once more. Of course, Bob and his ilk could prevent that kind of thing by volunteering at local food shelves, tutoring children, supporting policies that make business ownership easier for those on the lower end of the economic totem p---oh wait. Naturally, it sounds like Bob is railing against this mean, Trump-loving old earth rather than looking inward to see if there's anything about his own attitude towards life that he has to change. Bob has had anger issues since grade school. I can't imagine what being perpetually angry would do to one's psyche. I think Bob's too much of a coward to get violent against the outside world, but all that rage has to go somewhere. I imagine his insides look like the Picture of Dorian Gray - all malevolent and twisted and aged far beyond their years. I always love it whenever Bob forays into commenting on British politics because it makes it even more obvious that he doesn't have a clue what he's talking about. It's like the entirety of his awareness of this country's politics is that those disgusting working class white people support Brexit so it must be the worst thing since smallpox.

It has been established that Bob has a perturbing fondness for retail. Remember how upset he got over Toys R Us going tits up? For all his blathering about the "21st Century American," he is emotionally (and paradoxically) trapped in the late 1980s. Shouldn't he be embracing digital distribution and Amazon? Bob gets so upset over these stores closing down, but I'm guessing he never shopped there. When Nintendo Power ended he had a cover framed, but I don't recall him ever mentioning being subscribed to it.

Bob doesn't care about these companies, the employees, or even their products. Part of what makes California desirable for so many people is that it has pretty much every type of climate on the planet. Forests, glaciers, beaches, mountains, lakes, fields, cave, and yes, deserts. The desert part is mainly the south, which just so happens to be where Los Angeles is. So by claiming CA is just a desert is like saying there is nothing else besides LA. Which ironically, is one of the most polluted cities in the country(not as bad as Sacramento though).
You can easily find a section of California that fits your personal climate needs that gets ample rain if you wanted.
