The Captain Marvel sperging is even more unbearably exceptional. Is he seriously arguing that the floundering Marvel comics and the seven or eight relaunches of this character were some genius stroke of marketing research? Has he even looked at the demographic breakdown of the movie's audience, which is basically the usual glut of MCU fans, which are still mostly male? Captain Marvel succeeded because, outside of Brie Larson's alienating PR blunders, it was bland, easily digestible pap with pretty colors that doesn't make you think too hard, just like nearly every other Marvel movie, which is of course why Bob adores it -- it doesn't challenge his thoroughly limited intellect but lets him pretend he's a Deep Thinker.

He and his ilk have been immature with the 2016 election. They literally threw a temper tantrum that caused Robert Muller to investigate the collusion between Trump and Russia because of that said temper tantrum.
With the report being know to not further indict anyone, the modern left and SJWs have officially become the laughing stock of the political discourse. Had they actually not smeared anyone that didn’t align with their beliefs, they wouldn’t be in this position.
Sadly, they will learn nothing from this and it’ll continue to bite and destroy their influence.

And compare to breakdown of Wonder Woman, which was around 50/50. At this point Captain Marvel has exceeded WW's total gross, but I'm skeptical that it exceed its domestic gross.
My roommate and I will be going to an early screening of Shazam! in a couple of hours. I wonder what the odds of Bob going to one are. He's an "important" critic, after all.

You could probably trick Bob into thinking that a fictitious "flyover" state exists; "East Tennessee" or something. Or at least, trick him into believing in it until he hurried to Wikipedia to skim the history of the state to appear knowledgeable.

I managed to convince someone that there was an "East Wisconsin", one time. Capital was Marquette. Principle industries were timber, fishing, and mining.
Basically I just renamed the upper half of Michigan. Nobody really thinks about it as part of Michigan anyways.

You know Bob's actually right. Hilary would have been a lot more effective if she just hadn't said anything. At all. For the whole campaign. Probably still would have lost, but at least people could have pretended she wasn't shooting herself in the foot every time she opened her mouth.
