One Bob-ism that always confused me is when he calls things "unamerican" despite his Superior Future shtick being centered around discarding the concept of nations. Like why care about half the stuff he does if America only arbitrarily exists? How do you fail to notice something odd when your idea of American ideals is shooting yourself so a world government can take over? That hypothetical world government clearly isn't the USA.
Leftists have been doing a good job of portraying America as an inherently evil place. Yet some of them deep down still have that tribalist instinct of being patriotic (or a proud Bostonian). Their mental gymnastics of why the planet would be better off with dictators, theocrats, and communists having greater influence, while still wanting the "good" part of American values is probably why they are so angry all the time.
I think a lot of it is how it reflects on Bob as a content creator. The videos that Bob has made online are not good quality by any measure. He hasn't reached Dobson levels, but he certainly has made it clear that he doesn't like criticism of his work. The way he constantly defends his far too long review of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is an example of this.
Seeing someone actually take criticism into account and decide to improve upon it doesn't sit well with Bob because he himself doesn't want to improve his work based on all the criticism he receives.
I sort of sympathize with that view. An artist should follow his vision, not alter it to cater to current trends or to offer mindless fanservice (both of which are busily destroying Game of Thrones right now). What I don't get is shitting on the very people who pay for your bread and butter because they dare to criticize you. You're not going to grow as an artist doing that, but maybe the whole problem is these people are so arrogant they don't think they need to grow as artists.
To both of these quotes, I think they think they are entitled to make a living as content creators. They spent their school years doodling in their notebook doing minimal effort and still graduated, so that's what they expect in their adult life. They show that with their advocacy of a universal basic income. They say, "Imagine how much great art would be created if people were free to follow their passion." Well, most people aren't that creative or talented. These people just happened to be alive when it's easy putting shitty content out to the world. Receiving criticism just reminds them how utterly unremarkable these people are. They're scared to death that someday nobody is going to care what a 40 something's hot take on popular culture is, and they have no other employable skill to fall back on.
Also, that Dawn of Justice review made me think he was trying to create an epic take down of that movie, like the RLM Prequel reviews, but it just showed his absolute dearth of talent.
Bob is too stupid of be a nerd. And his participation in geek culture comes from being autistic and not mentally or emotionally maturing past the age of 9.
Add "in your face displays of wealth" to the superior future checklist

So, why isn't California the socialist utopia that all of America should look up to? Non of that "transfers" because you can't transfer weather and geology, and rich people flock to those places because of how nice it is. California is screwed up because of the governance. He really is "movie" Bob, because his idea of reality is solely based on movies and entertainment. He really thinks we should be a spacefaring species by now.
And that Sodom and Gomorrah take is just so stupid. EVENTUALLY! Sodom and Gomorrah was a decadent den of sin that's was a party scene everybody wants to go to, until eventually it was on fire. California is on a major fault line. Your metaphor is exactly the opposite of what you intended, just like everything you say. Not to mention, if it's not a major earthquake, it could fall into chaos because of bad politics.
