How petty can Bob be? Also, does Bob feel attacked by this drawing? Because i might think he does.
There's a book called
The Millionaire Next Door. The authors set out to document exactly what secrets millionaires use to become millionaires, so they invited a few over for lunch and interviews. They were startled to learn that most millionaires were not captains of industry, but plumbers, electricians, and other blue-collar types that Bob hates. The millionaires, for their part, were wondering just what the heck "caviar" was and where the pizza and beer was. The authors would go on to discover that many stereotypical millionaires- doctors, CEOs, and the like- were living deep in debt. While they had the biggest houses, the coolest cars, and the hottest wives, they were always one paycheck away from losing it all. Meanwhile, the
actual millionaires lived frugally- living in middle-class neighborhoods, driving clunkers they repaired themselves, and so on- saving up money so that many were actually richer than the doctors and CEOs!
Now, I'm not saying Bob read this book (it's beyond his mental capacity), but I think he suspects as much- that the inferior people who don't dress in the latest and greatest and don't opine on the latest Marvel movie are actually richer and more successful than him. His commentary is also hilarious, given that, as a money-saving measure, some inferior people attending college live at their parent's house and move out once they complete their degree and leverage their degree into a well-paying job.
It's ironic as hell. The people he hates live in other people's houses by choice, whereas he lives in another person's house because he has
no choice.
