You can really tell how badly traveled and anti-intellectual Bob is if he thinks white Americans are the most obnoxious "subgroup" (God that sounds fucking racist) in the world. I'll try to avoid powerleveling too much, so I'll just say that he should spend some time literally anywhere in South Asia or Northern Africa and then get back to me about how some hillbillies are the most socially reactionary people on Earth. I recommend Aceh Province in Indonesia or rural Myanmar in particular.

Ethnic Chinese people in South Asia will flat out tell you how ugly and primitive they think natives to those areas are because "they have dark skin and flat noses." Knowing the degree of casual racism you find in most of the world always makes me laugh when I see some American or Euro-honky talk about how bigoted rural white people are.

These crackas need to stop acting like they're somehow cosmopolitan just because they live in an urban area in the US. You're not picking up an understanding of the world by osmosis just because you have a highly Americanized 3rd generation Latino friend.

A few pages back we established that the entirety of Bob's experiences with non-white, non-American people was probably at a couple of resorts the family took him on vacation to. There's no evidence of him traveling anywhere else outside of the country, or even one of the more ethnically diverse regions within the country.

Liberals tend to really downplay how reactionary and homophobic a lot of the wonderful, melanin enriched citizens of the world's non-white countries are. In the USA I'm usually one of the more conservative people in a casual group, and I live in a conservative area to begin with. When politics comes up overseas, I practically feel like Mr. Moderate Progressive. And I've never been to Europe, so it wasn't the devil honkies talking about dangerous deviant homosexuals, the importance of respecting authority, and the need for more brutal punishments for miscreants who smoke weed.
