Good Lord. It's not like a promise to cut taxes when prime interest rates were hovering around 15% might have enticed a voter or two. Bob's historic and political illiteracy never fails to astound

And that is an unsettling specific kojima fantasy...

Hm, I wonder if these two clowns realize that: A. It might be just a ruse for dumb SJWs to buy the game; B. Even if it does, its nothing new as the whole MGS series would critique specific things like PMCs, proxy war, using the whole propaganda to change facts an etc. So really, what are these two ass clowns even sperging about?

I have only one response to Bob's facile and tendentious interpretation of how Reagan won, and that is the 1984 electoral map:

Wow, look at all those God-bothering anti-science types.
He can read Wiki, but like many, he skims until he sees what he's looking for, ignoring all context and fact countering his deeply held position he's had since an hour ago.

No mention of the Iranian hostage crisis, no mention of the economic powerhouse that rose out of the doldrums of the 70s, no mention of the fucking Cold War.

It's almost like Bob is a puffed-up ignoramus with a completely unwarranted ego.

If they read the actual quote (they don't, they never fucking do), Kojima references a society that's disconnected and divided, which is expressed by things like Trump and Brexit. Nothing in the game actually preaches about either of those topics, it's just a way to explain, in an interview, why these themes are particularly relevent.
If those two knuckle-draggers took time to understand any context for anything, they wouldn't be notoriously ridiculous lolcows, I guess.

I love tossing out how Nixon "briefly" won, as if he didn't win two presidential elections, the second one by an embarrassingly large margin.

Nixon 1972 is as boner-inducing as Reagan '84.

Huh, now Im reminded of the Quartering and his take on the Modern Warfare dislike "Oh because this game has wamen!", even though people had better reasons to dislike that game. Like, do these people sniff glue or do they take special classes to be this dumb.

ETA: Nixon also didn't win just the southern states. He won the northern ones as well, sometimes by double-digit margins.
I not sure what Bob means by how Nixon briefly won. In '68, Nixon was able win people when they were fed up with LBJ's handling of Vietnam as he won the Electoral College by a pretty good margin despite barely winning the popular vote. In '72, he won since his opponent was super weak.

When Bob talks about/ criticises movies, he ranges from being a autistic fanboy to an annoying contrarian neckbeard. This is an example:
Sure Bob, let's forget how Batman and Robin is a legit shitty movie with bad acting, horrible writing, and how it nearly drove the franchise into the grave if not for Batman Begins.

A lot of this stuff is debatable, but putting The Dark Knight Rises on the same level as Green Lantern is pure, obvious, childish spite.

He's parroting a video from Patrick H. Wilems about how Batman and Robin works if you watch it as camp like Rocky Horror Picture Show and that it was never intended to be dark and serious, which is a fair argument.

He also argues that people are entitled to like what they want before unironically mocking fans of the DCEU, because I guess you're only entitled to your opinion if they align with Patrick H. Wilems's.

That's why I say Batman Forever is, visually, possibly the greatest looking Batman movie ever and really relished it's over the top villains. Gotham looking like Chicago bums me out, but the way they married weird gothic architecture with wild neon shit in these early ones was pretty fun. I also really like how it put such a focus on height, so many scenes involve understanding the perilous nature of about to fall and it had all these extreme angles.

While Val Kilmer doesn't make the best Bruce Wayne it's impossible not to like Tommy Lee Jones in this.

I've heard that argument. It's crap. It's the same desperation that led Warner Bros. to market The Exorcist II as a comedy when they realized what an atrocious piece of shit they had on their hands, except now it's alleged film critics coming up with the same excuse so as to justify their contrarian hot takes.

I swear to Christ half the reason Bob grows ever more despicable is because he only listens to cunty little fuckheads who are as pretentious as himself.
