The context of "natural law" here is biology and anatomy, aka, the same context as the law of gravity, the physical underpinnings of the universe. Bob is arguing that what is physical reality can be dismissed without understanding it becuz scientists can work their science magic on that shit to change it. But scientists can't change shit (actually effect, not change, scientists don't change the laws of physics, they work within them) until they observe and understand what the physical reality of it is in the first place, which denying that reality makes impossible. This is the problem with repeating "trans women are women" like an idpol magic spell to banish wrongthink when people talk about how there are physical differences between the sexes.

I am mostly clueless when it comes to the sciences, mostly because that stuff didn't appeal to me outside of watching the evolution of technology, but holy shit, I swear each day Bob is leaking cranial fluid to come up with the idiotic hot takes he does. It's because Prometheus brought fire down to man. Prometheus gave us the ability to master the dark, the cold, and raw food. Prometheus gave science, mastery over the natural order. How could it be anything else but a magical power to solve all problems? We just aren't sciencing enough. That's why we need a global, post national world, freed from the superstitions of the inferior past. Only then can we believe enough in science to enable our scientists to give us robot bodies, moon wheat on lunar colonies, etc. That's how Bob earned his future, he belived in science, he's been a devout worshiper at the altar of progress.

Hoo boy, lot's to dissect here. This is Bob at his nastiest and most dogmatic, but the biggest thing I'm wrapping my brain around is how Mr. Fedora Tipper "Thinkers vs Believers" talks about Hell like he believes it's a real place you go to when you die if you're bad ("bad" in this case meaning, "sinned against St. Hillary by telling the truth about her").
