How will Bob react to seeing the Mario film?

So he'll still be Tweeting about it in five years? Badum tsh!

And that take. People being angry that superhero movies were too stripped down and realistic? When? When has that ever been a major thing? Tim Burton's Batman? Christopher Reeve's Superman? The first two X-Men movies? He uses Batman Begins of all things as an example, when that movie was a extremely well received and considered a huge improvement over the previous, much less realistic entry in the franchise. How many people were hung up on the Lazarus Pits? A few hopeless dorks who were a small minority, and I wouldn't be surprised if Robert was one of them.

Most I recall with Batman Begins wasnt the Lazarus Pit, but people hung up over Al Ghul being played by an Asian dude, when his backstory was more Arabian based....I think, also that Scarecrow was really pointless.

Yeah, Bob's definitely arguing with himself from 20 years ago here. During the first boom of super hero movies in the late 90's/early 2000's, directors like Brian Singer and Zack Snyder were very vocal that direct costume translations from the comic would never work. Singer in particular lampooned the idea by making a "yellow spandex" reference in X-Men 1. Bob has hated him ever since. In fact, I'm pretty sure the colorful costume design is the only reason Bob likes First Class out of step with the rest of the X-Men movies, which he ranges from disliking because of the quality of the movie to disliking because of its perceived target audience.

I vaguely recall he was also one of the nerds super outraged that Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man had biological webs instead of the shooters.

Scarecrow did make the drug that they pumped in the pipes for the climax, so he wasn't pointless but his role was a lot larger than it needed to be for the plot. I thought Scarecrow was cool and made for a colorful minion though, so I didn't mind.

The only thing I remember people complaining about with Al Ghul was that the movie changed the way his first name is pronounced. Also, since the film implies there have been many Al Ghuls, it seems dumb to get hung up on his race. Presumably the first one was Arab, but the one at the beginning of the movie is Asian. And by the end it's a Frenchman. Al Ghul gets replaced by someone of a different race right in the movie.

Regardless, where normal people use exaggerated versions of real life to make strawmen, Properly Evolved Robert isn't confined to such restraints, and will gladly make up arguments nobody is saying anything remotely close to just so he can talk about how wrong they are.

I think he'll still be tweeting about the joker when he is hooked up to oxygen in a tent hospital

This is a dumb thread. The reason why comic accuracy isn't as big of a deal with the Joker is because the team was very clear about it being an "Elseworld" and not intended to be an actual adaptation like the DCEU films were......and even then you had comic fans being salty about giving the Joker a backstory/real name.

That isn't a magic handwave either, most versions seen in other mediums are supposed to adaptations of their regular selves. Bob's basically being smug about Superman: Red Son not being classic Superman when it never was supposed to be. There's no contradiction here.

I think Bob's too irrelevant to cancel. Most of the rest of the indie hipster clique ignores him after he got fired from the Escapist the first time, and the only people who cared enough about him to give him a platform post-firing he's either burned bridges with (such as Devin Faraci of Birth.Movies.Death, by making his one and only submission post-firing a tantrum about GamerGate, and Geek.com hasn't been hosting his videos in almost a year), or they all but left the industry after crossing Zoe Quinn, as is the case with Susan Arendt and Russ Pitts. His username mentions on twitter seem mostly split between dirtbag left teenage boys praising him and anime avatars/anonymous accounts mocking him. He doesn't have anything to motivate a canceling beyond being cringe. He isn't famous/rich enough for the one who canceled him to benefit from it, nor does he have the influence for anyone to think he's enough of a menace that he must be canceled for the public good.

I said this awhile ago, but Bob doesn't have anything of value to lose. Unless he gets kicked out of the basement apartment, he has nothing else that can be taken away from him.

The implicit assumption that Bob is one of the smart people and not a pluperfect example of "the stupids" is never not hilarious.

"Already out of beer," huh? Sometimes I wonder if Bob's drinking is exactly as bad as we sometimes joke about. Oooh, maybe we'll get to see him tweeting with the DTs.

An thats not getting into the concept how Joker is one of those characters who never had a defiant backstory, point of origin or character. Thats a running theme with him, thats why we have so many versions in both comics/movies and games. Hell, only reason people use the Killing Joke backstory is because its the most popular one.

Eh, I think he does have something to lose and that's his Twitter account.

Bob lives entirely on social media and if he got banned or even just temporarily suspended from Twitter, he'd become completely broken and really go into a downward spiral. With as many people there are on both sides who detest him, I'm surprised nobody has tried any mass flagging gay ops, given he's given plenty of material to work with.

While he is ostensibly left-leaning and woke, he's also a cishet white male and has no real sway or influence over anything.

The only white soyboys who are relatively ironclad in the SJW sphere of influence are all either queer or have enough knowledge, influence, or connections to exercise some clout. Bob has none of that at all. He's just another simpy bearded egg who's not much different than someone like Andrew Dobson, and is easily expendable.

Ever wonder why Dobson never seems to have opinions of his own beyond "Lesbians Good" and always seems to solely rely on the words of his fellow SJW's what the currently acceptable and non-problematic viewpoints are?

Because for all his pretentiousness and woke virtue signalling, Dobson kinda knows his place in the SJW hierarchy and is well aware he's near the very bottom of it. Bob is on that same tier as Dobson, but is too full of petulant rage and smug hubris to realize it.

As it is, Bob only has the coveted blue checkmark because he got in just early enough for the bar of entry to be fairly low. It's a phenomenon we see with many of these woke hipster douchebag types. Cole Smithey has the exact same thing going for him, only with Rotten Tomatoes instead of Twitter.

"and lost iincome"
Fuck me, this is the sort of pathetic degeneracy that only broke ass furfags and teenage weebs engaged in prior to just a few years ago. A hobby is a hobby. If your livelihood is latching onto some corporate media property like a barnacle, do a flip.

Bobby is only mad because he can't wank off silently by rubbing his fatfolds together while watching Scarlett Johanson fight with her sister or something creepy like that.

I actually had some interest in the movie just because the trailer looked decent. Plus I kind of like the "prodigal child returns home" plotline I saw in it.

It never occurs to Blobbo that deliberately misrepresenting your views to a large portion of an electorate might generate ill will that will bite the dishonest politician on the backside. Does he think the Government is like a video game where, when you reach a certain level, that you stay there forever? (Or rather, that when people from the "right side of history" gain power and make laws, that they and their policies will remain in power forever? ) Did Bob forget about how Obama shat out executive orders out the wazoo and made the Executive Branch super powerful, only for Trump to slide in and use that power for his own agenda?

Given how long this virus pandemic last, will Disney push BW to a mid summer release such as in July so it doesn't compete with WW 1984 (I'm not sure if that movie will be delayed too) or will they push it to a fall release?
I would imagine they’ll release it in November taking Eternals’ slot and will delay Eternals into 2021. I’m more curious with how much more damage with the pandemic hurt Disney to the point they get sold to Apple.

If it is moved to November, the only competition I see is Godzilla vs. Kong, which, I hate to say, it will probably beat. But then Bob would have to choose between the MCU or the MonsterVerse.
