I have got to say that I have found Bob very inspiring today. At the expense of power-leveling, I've been working on a manuscript that is "tokusatsu meets Peter Pan" and thought it would be funny to write an expy of Bob--if not for my own amusement--for a filler episode because I could imagine him mutating into a gelatinous blob that CONSOOMs what it touches. Hell, I went further in my autism by writing an introductory ballad that chronicles his possession by a Slimer-like ghost, which includes devouring his brother whole. I get the same feeling. It's weird watching a movie from the 1940s and seeing a character get friend zoned. One of the lesser Twilight Zone episodes that feels relevant today is one where a guy keeps harassing people he doesn't like. Wakanda started out as a African analogue to El Dorado or Shangri-la, hidden wonder states, advanced civilizations cut out from the rest of the world. The character Black Panther obviously was created with social political intentions, Its in the very name, but most of the stories around him, till recent years, tend to keep politics tangential.

And the reason is easy, if Wakanda gets political and is seen as a bastion of african culture against western white opression, then why the fuck would they keep their miraculous civilization hidden when most of Africa suffers the worst conditions on the modern world? It's a can of worms that the books avoided for most of the character's life, and the movie adressed it in a bit of a bizarre limp dicked way, like opening community centers in first world countries instead of helping people losing limbs in mine fields right next to their doors.

To seriously discuss this position would take the allure of the fictional story, it would be the same to ask to Batman to give up his money to social instead of using for crime fight. it's a dumb argument that dumb people make.
