The most revealing scene in Fight Club is when Tyler declaresView attachment 1302337
Has there ever be a person who doesn't think Tyler Dunden (of Fight Club) is wrong?
"We’ve all been raised on television to believe that one day we’d all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won’t. And we’re slowly learning that fact. And we’re very, very pissed off."
Bob was raised to believe that one day he'd be a Roger Ebert, or a Kevin Smith, or a James Gunn, but he won't. And he's slowly learning that fact. And he's very, very pissed off.
Instead of being mad at the people who lied to him, who manipulated his ego into believing he had the talent, or drive, or connections to achieve any of these so-called promised dreams, like Tyler Durden should have done instead, he takes his rage out on society at large, even if his reign of mayhem includes the innocents he claims to redeem.
Bob should hate Fight Club, because it pokes at the very heart of him.
