Lmfao what?! I need the backstory here, please, if anyone is inclined to relive Bob’s glorious achievement for those of us who are new to his lore.

+1 to the counter of Bob "Gas the Dumb Rednecks" Chipman not knowing where to use your/you're by the way.

The second one I don't remember clearly but it was about Bob not feeling well during an event or some such.

So he’s not just a fat ugly virgin slob, but a drunk too? Can’t imagine why he’s never had a girlfriend.

Routinely getting blackout drunk while going out to bars alone isn’t the own Cinema Robert thinks it is.
Things have gotten worse for Bob much faster than he could lower his expectations. It’s no wonder he’s miserable. Bob mistakenly believes his surroundings are what he’s sick of. But what’s destroying his soul is being Bob.

Look at his Twitter feed. It’s very clear he’s not a serious person but he is seriously angry and in a very dark place. If Bob was so smart and had all the answers, he’d be fixing his life instead of trying to put the world to rights on Twitter all his waking hours.

Chinatown in Boston is a pretty touristy area. I can't imagine that anyone would find it illicit or seedy on a week night, unless he went to some secret Triad bar where only gang members and internet movie critics drink.

Also getting black out drunk is pathetic, getting black out drunk in your late 30s alone is a real "I need to turn my life around" moment.

So when will we get the Hangover: Twitter movie critic on streaming? Hopefully soon, I need a good laugh.

Feeling the need to tweet about it, rather than feeling ashamed, SHOULD be a real “maybe the school psychologists knew something I didn’t” moment. But this is Bob. He’s got it all figured out and he’ll remind you of that 60 times a day on his multiple Twitter feeds.

I can't believe this just occurred to me, but is it possible OCD is part of the smorgasbord of Bob's mental issues? Maybe he literally can't stop himself from tweeting out his every wet brain fart.

Yeah, you fucking told that 50 year old woman, Bob! I bet she can't even bench 300!

I have a sneaking suspicion that he didn't look carefully at the person in the picture before typing up his sick pwn, which is why he thought "weakling" was a good burn. Or the fat diabetic is just showing his Social Darwinist tendencies for the billionth time.

In the Sh0eonhead thread I mentioned that people who can't gracefully come to terms with the fact that they're getting older always end up embarrassingly trying to act like what they thought was "cool" in high school. That's how this comes across. "DUDE, I got so WASTED last night. Just BLACKOUT drunk! It was wild!"

That he was doing it in Chinatown (Which feels "clandestine"? Whoa there ProblematicRobert! It kinda sounds like you're implying Chinatown is somehow criminal or dirty or something...) makes me wonder if he goes there harboring a deeply buried hope that a beautiful Asian princess in a cheongsam will see his fat ass in his polo shirt and cargo shorts, drinking himself blind in a corner, and fall madly in love with him at first sight, or that a Chinese businessman will offer to sell his daughter to him.

Same shit always happens whenever a topic gets galvanized by internet politics, one side gets the end of the stick, because if you are going to make it a game, it means someone has to lose, and no one can ever hold an L on the internet, so we have these walk backs.

Same shit when Dave Chappelle came with the anti PC jokes, people got into their battlegrounds sides and it turned out that the masses liked Chappelle and he wasn't going to get the cancel treatment. Then one of the sides had to go and puff "well, I'm not mad or offended in any shape or form by his comedy, I just find it boring and predictable, preaching to a simpleton choir".

Sure, whatever, no one was ever mad about this Snyder cut shit, no one cared, no one lost face over this bullshit, everybody is always right about everything and the other are the ones always wrong, but not me, never me.

I wouldn't say its impossible. OCD can manifest in some weird ways, and new behaviors can develop over time. I want to know more about what Bob was like pre-social media. Was he worse because he didn't have a release? Or was he slightly better without a public forum in his life?

We've got a whole archive of his blog posts back then if you really want to dig into it.

As I've said before, he would go onto different sites and engage in comment sections at the time - especially if it was movie and politics related - but those records seem to be lost to time.

like tears... in rain...

In the old videos he was saying the same type of things but he was more restrained. I think social media gave him the confidence to really open up and say what he meant when he saw others saying it. But, being Bob, he went overboard on the whole "kill the obsoletes" because he doesn't understand most people aren't as insane as he is.

Hence Bobby uses his Escapist platform for generalized bile. As usual I can't watch the video because the pre-video ad refused to load.

Again, it takes someone as dumb as Arthur Chu to make Bobby sound like quasi-semihuman.

OK I've figured out how to access the video right from the source. Unlike the embedded version from The Escapist website, it loads immediately.

Total length 7:26; video proper starts at 0:33. Summary:
- Bobby claims people cannot do their escapism because of the lockdown.
- Yet, poor Bob, he needs to shit out something regularly for The Escapist.
- So this time, he treats you to a whole minute of some 80s B-action called Raw Force.
- Cheap swipe at "a bunch of dumb yahoos" who wants to reopen the states.
- Cheap swipe at Henry Cavall's reprising the role of Superman, and the Synder Cut.
- Another minute of Raw Force, because Bobby is lazy.
- Bobby spends the last two minute reassuring people "it is okay to be not okay".
That's All Folks!

I've watched the Harley Quinn animated series about half of season 1, and then just skipped around the other episodes and gave up at the end. It has nothing to do with Adam West Batman.

Look, this type of bullshit that Robert tries to pull with his takes is tiresome, because any asshole can pull flimsy comparisons over broad strokes interpretations and bend whatever meaning a book, show, whatever has to meet a wanted conclusion. I once read an entire article sayin that "A Street Car named Desire" was about the fall of western civilization, and the thing got academic awards, just that later it was revealed to be a joke.

West's Batman and Harley Quinn are both comedies, but West is campy fun, but overall played straight. Quinn, on the other hand, is very much a 2020, very self aware and impressed with it's quirky characters, it says fuck a lot and operates in a way that is to mock the very existence of heroes and villains, casualizing them with mundane aspects, as in "LOL, what if the Legion of Doom operated just like a business enterprise, complete with coffee break room, XD!!!"

So Robert, no one "Thought of this" is because it's idiotic, and let's be real, you like the fact that you made this link between the Harley Quinn show and Adam West Batman than the shows themselves, so you can feel good about you big brain takes.

And while we are sperging about Harley Quinn bullshit, to the little cunt about bitching about camera gawking on Margot Robbie, and Margot Robbie not wanting to "sexualize" the character, go fuck yourselves. Wanna know how Margot Robbie got the role for Harley Quinn?

Before that she was a nobody acting on soap operas. Till she got a break on a Scorsese movie, and she didn't even blink on showing the goods as fast as she could. Robbie ain't a bad actress, but aside from the shaved pussy, she didn't have much to do in the movie, because 90% of it was Leonardo DiCaprio shouting. And like it or not, that is how people remember her in that movie.

So please, don't act as if you are taking some moral high-ground by not showing a midriff in a shitty superhero movies.

Yeah, I've gotten blackout drunk only once, and it was an accident involving a mixed drink I made where you 100% could not taste the alcohol, leading to a larger than intended alcohol intake.
I wouldn't post THAT on anything with my real name attached, and it was in my early 20s. The idea of being a 39 year old man bragging about routinely getting blackout drunk like we're supposed to be impressed by frat rat behavior is astounding, but it's hard to really be surprised by "the ubermensch, paragon pinnacle of humanity" anymore.

The Adam West show is something he likes overstating its influence due to a dislike of modern Batman. It certainly left a mark as it was the first live action Batman, if you didn't count old 40s serials, and the creation of Barbara Gordon for example but it came out in 1966. You know, the late 60s. Why is this important? This was already five years into Marvel making big strides over the "Distinguished Competition" as ol' Stan used to call them and the medium already moving to copy the soapy antics and real world drama he was known for. The Adam West show was emulating an era of comics that was nearly as old as its audience. Comics themselves were still decades away from their decline as mainstream entertainment.

It was popular and it's fine to like camp but treating it as the core everything revolved around until Burton came along in 1989 or whatever is very much ignoring context and the era it came out.
