Bob has a hateboner for the term Ludonarrative Dissonance.View attachment 1409659

also because there is one huge practical disadvantage to monorails over trams: you can't switch rolling stock from one track to another without shifting the entire line, which means you can only have one line, or separate, completely disconnected lines, neither of which are practical options for a mass transit systemThe main reason no one wants to build monorails is because it makes it a lot easier for people in the inner cities to get out to the suburbs. Yes, this means commuters, but it also means hoodrats. With special low income rates, an urban dweller can commute to your house, lift your TV, and commute back to the city in a jif. It also means angry BLM mobs can show up in rich white suburbs without having to travel down any easily blocked streets. No wonder it appeals to Bob and the BLM crowd.
trying to maintain a national freeway system that size is hard enough - many of the more remote sections have not been improved since the 1930sBecause America is really fucking big. Our country is huge, and our population density is very low, so any kind of comprehensive rail system would have hundreds of miles of dead space, all of which would have to be maintained. Trying to implement this shit nationwide would be a money pit that would shame even California's Bugman Express dream. It's almost as if different places are different, and may have different best solutions to any given problem. Trying to adopt the one-size-fits-all model for no other reason than MUH SUPERIOR FUCHA is exactly the kind of hubris that Hayek correctly predicted as the constant downfall of planners.
I disagree with Bob a lot here. I've been playing last of us 2 and I actually really like it (sue me) but there are tons of tense moments where it is imperative Ellie goes and solves a problem quickly. but you're allowed to wonder around the city, find secrets, crack safes, and just in general fuck around. It actively encourages you to do so to get supplies. It really counteracts the tenseness of the story and makes the character you play seem disconnected with the story at points. But yeah at the end of the day it's a videogame, they want you to have fun, look at the scenery, and not have it be shoot bad guy for 20 hours.View attachment 1409659

I think that Bob is getting less and less satisfaction from actually playing video games over time as his brain's dopamine production declines. Between that and the ever-increasing need to wring more dopamine from his failing neurons by doubling down on the most viciously addictive behavior in his sphere of customary activities, social media has mostly or entirely displaced actual videogame playing by Bob. An exacerbating factor is the increased complexity of modern videogames requires a greater clarity of thought than he usually possesses. I'm sure he still hoards the games he used to love, thinking that eventually he'll feel like playing them again, but he won't. I've seen it happen to other people before. In fact, I'm pretty sure it's more common than anyone will admit, and it explains a lot about the state of the modern videogame industry as people with more disposable income than ever throw away money on games they have less desire to actually play than ever.I disagree with Bob a lot here. I'm not sure if Bob is chosing to ignore this because he loves to consoom, or because he doesn't actually play videogames and understand how much this can pull you out of the game and annoy you. The term itself is pretentious sounding but there is another perfectly good term called "immersion breaking"
I absolutely won't fault him for not being interested in video games anymore. Some people grow out of playing them. But I will fault him for trying to force his opinion into them when he doesn't actually play them anymore. I will also fault him for basing all of his opinions on the people that play the games instead of the games themselvesI think that Bob is getting less and less satisfaction from actually playing video games over time as his brain's dopamine production declines. Robert is too autistic to play anything but the pabulum that Nintendo puts out, and only then the stuff that still plays like it was made in 1985.I disagree with Bob a lot here. It makes sense, Bob has to claim to be an expert on everything under the sun which means someone somewhere is going to call him out on his bullshit. If you're going to make fun of Bob for his ignorant take on something you are passionate about you're probably going to include evidence or examples to illustrate your point. If you want to call out Bobs ignorance on hydroponics you're going to want to explain for everyone else reading why hydroponics are unfeasible to help the people who don't know anything about the subject understand, and since Bob has hot take on everything that means a lot of experts and amateurs in a lot of subjects are going to call him out. It reminds me a bit of the show Adam Ruins Everything where anyone with an interest in the topic he's talking about has already heard his "shocking revelations" before and knows how full of shit he is at times. Kinda beautiful that so many people have come together to share their collective knowledge in service of making fun of a fat basement dweller.I'm always amused how much we can learn from this thread just based on how ignorant Bob is.
I've probably learned more about food growing, physics, politics, sociology and art stuff like writing and directing entirely due to Bob pretending he knows about them only to be miserably wrong than I would have on my own.
We could probably make an encyclopedia around things Bob doesn't actually know about by this point.
Bob doesn't hate the 'pretentious term' Bob hates it when words he thought he and he alone used to sound smart are being used by everyone else and understood by everyone else. He can't pretend to be a smarty big brain if the rest of the 'chaff' also know the meaning of (and can better use) his big boy words.Bob has a hateboner for the term Ludonarrative Dissonance.
(actual video starts at 4:40)
Also, it's funny how Bob goes all "ugh, i hate that pretentious term", when he uses a thesarus for his hot takes.
>fuck *everyone* who caused us to still be stuck doing this shitHow is this any different from your Saturday nights before the pandemic, Bob?

When CNN and other Mainstream sources lie about Trumps tweets I know they're intentionally trying to mislead the public for a selfish political agenda, with Bob I always have to question if hes serious about what hes saying.View attachment 1411751

I'm honestly surprised how Robert can sound like such a boomer and autist when it comes to talking about politics he agrees with.
All the outdoor seating and even some of the indoor seating is open for business in MA.

The vid is of some Bahstonian or Long Islander, I can't tell from the accent, so I can only imagine that adds to Robert's vitriol.
Because the women that he mocks think differently and thus are not considered human by him or the weirdos and trannys that circle him.Why doesn't anyone call Bob out for hating women? Surely even the people who like his content can tell he is especially vicious towards republicans who are also women?
