The main reason no one wants to build monorails is because it makes it a lot easier for people in the inner cities to get out to the suburbs. Yes, this means commuters, but it also means hoodrats. With special low income rates, an urban dweller can commute to your house, lift your TV, and commute back to the city in a jif. It also means angry BLM mobs can show up in rich white suburbs without having to travel down any easily blocked streets. No wonder it appeals to Bob and the BLM crowd.
also because there is one huge practical disadvantage to monorails over trams: you can't switch rolling stock from one track to another without shifting the entire line, which means you can only have one line, or separate, completely disconnected lines, neither of which are practical options for a mass transit system
in reality monorails (and their even more gee-whiz-how-futuristic relatives, maglevs) are more like horizontal elevators than anything else, which is why if they're used at all, they're used for key links (e.g. between a city and an airport) instead of mass transit

Because America is really fucking big. Our country is huge, and our population density is very low, so any kind of comprehensive rail system would have hundreds of miles of dead space, all of which would have to be maintained. Trying to implement this shit nationwide would be a money pit that would shame even California's Bugman Express dream. It's almost as if different places are different, and may have different best solutions to any given problem. Trying to adopt the one-size-fits-all model for no other reason than MUH SUPERIOR FUCHA is exactly the kind of hubris that Hayek correctly predicted as the constant downfall of planners.
trying to maintain a national freeway system that size is hard enough - many of the more remote sections have not been improved since the 1930s

This man had a meltdown when he discovered Mario wasn't born on Brooklyn.
I disagree with Bob a lot here. I've been playing last of us 2 and I actually really like it (sue me) but there are tons of tense moments where it is imperative Ellie goes and solves a problem quickly. but you're allowed to wonder around the city, find secrets, crack safes, and just in general fuck around. It actively encourages you to do so to get supplies. It really counteracts the tenseness of the story and makes the character you play seem disconnected with the story at points. But yeah at the end of the day it's a videogame, they want you to have fun, look at the scenery, and not have it be shoot bad guy for 20 hours.

I'm not sure if Bob is chosing to ignore this because he loves to consoom, or because he doesn't actually play videogames and understand how much this can pull you out of the game and annoy you. The term itself is pretentious sounding but there is another perfectly good term called "immersion breaking"

I think that Bob is getting less and less satisfaction from actually playing video games over time as his brain's dopamine production declines. Between that and the ever-increasing need to wring more dopamine from his failing neurons by doubling down on the most viciously addictive behavior in his sphere of customary activities, social media has mostly or entirely displaced actual videogame playing by Bob. An exacerbating factor is the increased complexity of modern videogames requires a greater clarity of thought than he usually possesses. I'm sure he still hoards the games he used to love, thinking that eventually he'll feel like playing them again, but he won't. I've seen it happen to other people before. In fact, I'm pretty sure it's more common than anyone will admit, and it explains a lot about the state of the modern videogame industry as people with more disposable income than ever throw away money on games they have less desire to actually play than ever.

I absolutely won't fault him for not being interested in video games anymore. Some people grow out of playing them. But I will fault him for trying to force his opinion into them when he doesn't actually play them anymore. I will also fault him for basing all of his opinions on the people that play the games instead of the games themselves

Robert is too autistic to play anything but the pabulum that Nintendo puts out, and only then the stuff that still plays like it was made in 1985.

I'm always amused how much we can learn from this thread just based on how ignorant Bob is.
I've probably learned more about food growing, physics, politics, sociology and art stuff like writing and directing entirely due to Bob pretending he knows about them only to be miserably wrong than I would have on my own.
We could probably make an encyclopedia around things Bob doesn't actually know about by this point.
It makes sense, Bob has to claim to be an expert on everything under the sun which means someone somewhere is going to call him out on his bullshit. If you're going to make fun of Bob for his ignorant take on something you are passionate about you're probably going to include evidence or examples to illustrate your point. If you want to call out Bobs ignorance on hydroponics you're going to want to explain for everyone else reading why hydroponics are unfeasible to help the people who don't know anything about the subject understand, and since Bob has hot take on everything that means a lot of experts and amateurs in a lot of subjects are going to call him out. It reminds me a bit of the show Adam Ruins Everything where anyone with an interest in the topic he's talking about has already heard his "shocking revelations" before and knows how full of shit he is at times. Kinda beautiful that so many people have come together to share their collective knowledge in service of making fun of a fat basement dweller.

Bob has a hateboner for the term Ludonarrative Dissonance.
(actual video starts at 4:40)

Also, it's funny how Bob goes all "ugh, i hate that pretentious term", when he uses a thesarus for his hot takes.
Bob doesn't hate the 'pretentious term' Bob hates it when words he thought he and he alone used to sound smart are being used by everyone else and understood by everyone else. He can't pretend to be a smarty big brain if the rest of the 'chaff' also know the meaning of (and can better use) his big boy words.

Bob is essentially Eric Cartman without the intelligence, drive and ability to keep people around him despite being a cunt.

How is this any different from your Saturday nights before the pandemic, Bob?

>fuck *everyone* who caused us to still be stuck doing this shit

So you mean the Chinese and Dem Governors who let the protests happen which resulted in a spike in Corona cases as a result?

I'm honestly surprised how Robert can sound like such a boomer and autist when it comes to talking about politics he agrees with.
When CNN and other Mainstream sources lie about Trumps tweets I know they're intentionally trying to mislead the public for a selfish political agenda, with Bob I always have to question if hes serious about what hes saying.

It's been two days since his last post but the dead coward alt personal account makes a comeback!

The vid is of some Bahstonian or Long Islander, I can't tell from the accent, so I can only imagine that adds to Robert's vitriol.

lol You beat me to it.

What gets me is that Bob has gone on the record as saying he's done nothing to help the protests that he loves so much, other than mindlessly screeching into the void that is twitter. I think Chris is the one who said that he's giving money to the protests, whatever the hell that means EDIT: It was Bob who claimed to support protests financially, whatever the hell that means. He seems to think he's gonna be safe when this " bad-ass multicultural army of ass-kicking vigilantes" comes to his neighborhood. It's probably because he doesn't own his home, so he has ZERO skin in the game, and is so stupid that he thinks that even if they burn it down, it's just property and there's plenty more out there for him to rent. I don't want to turn this into a political rant, there's already plenty of that elsewhere, so I'll just say Bobbyboi, you are dumb to think that you, and your family that I hope you actually care about, will be spared from your buzzword militia. The only people who pretend to care about you, online at the very least which is your whole world, are weirdos and trannys. The people you so desperately try to get attention from actively ignore you and want nothing to do with you as you've pointed out many, many times with your "why doesn't anyone come to my aid" sob stories.

Why doesn't anyone call Bob out for hating women? Surely even the people who like his content can tell he is especially vicious towards republicans who are also women?
Because the women that he mocks think differently and thus are not considered human by him or the weirdos and trannys that circle him.

It's not even just Republican women. Bob's just as vicious to leftist women that disagree with him. Bob has a very real hate towards women. And why would he not? They've ignored him and treated him like the creep he is for his entire life. Bob could look at himself honestly and see the problem lies entirely in his own psyche, but that would be hard and painful. Bob's absolutely terrified of introspection. Better to just do what he always does, hurl angry insults.

I can't believe Chris is giving money to the BLM-esque scams.

Wasn't the guy just asking for Patreon money to make ends meet, and does't he have two small kids to take care of? What the fuck is he doing giving money to these obvious con-jobs.

Regardless being democrat or republican, you just don't give out money like that, even more so when you are very public asking for it. There are already reports that this money being pocketed for november campaings, fucking dumbass.
