True, the challenges as always is how do you know the people involved didn't do any of that? Of course as you pointed out, Bob just assumes it because in his movies Christians are always the insensitive ones who don't care about anybody else.There is an argument to be made that we shouldn't just rush into contacting isolated tribes in the jungles of New Guinea and South America for fear of contaminating them with diseases they may not have been exposed too, or that we should document their stone-age culture to get a feel for how early humans lived, or that we need to ease them into the modern world so they aren't overwhelmed by it. In Anthropology there are tons of ethical guidelines to follow so your research on these primitive people is valid and accurate and you don't accidentally destroy their society. Bob just hates this guy performing missionary work because he's a Christian and thats bad according to the movies.
In this case, the tweet Bob quotes mentions spending months learning the language. Seems it would be very hard for the missionaries to do that without picking up something about the culture. (Indeed there's probably some irony that we only have records of many ancient cultures because missionaries bothered to make them.)
