So while I was waiting for this duck taped web site to come back up I decided to do something I don't usually do and that was watch a Bob video! His latest one in fact. I am quickly reminded why I don't watch his content.
2020 will offer no big Marvel Cinematic Universe superheroes (or anyone else?) in theaters. The Big Picture mourns the lack of heroes.
www.escapistmagazine.com
Youtube vid is hidden behind a pay wall for a week.
The video's title is
2020: The Year We Had No Heroes – The Big Picture. It's about how there will be no MCU movies this year and how that's probably a bad thing because we need heroes and all our irl heroes have let us down and the working man needs something to just chillax to you know the pill for that chill is a double dose of B tier capeshit!
The vid is as hilarious as it is insufferable. Right off the bat, the audio is horrible. It clips like crazy. And dat editing fam. You can hear him screw up mid sentence he poorly splices in the retake about a minute thirty to two minutes in. Next, the gist of the vid is what you expect.
"Heh, see kiddo, it's not ME that needs the MAHVEIL Cinematic Universe to survive. It's the everyman in America, the working Joe, that needs this escapism to survive."
He does admit that the marvel movies are mostly just OK. He points out that in the great scope of things, no marvel movies is pretty minuscule, funnily enough just 10-15 seconds after lamenting how this was destroying "millions" of jobs. He also points out that this year was not without super hero movies as Birds of Prey
(y'all remember Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) ? I legit forgot that it 1. came out this year and 2. was even a thing) came out and...they're still gonna try to push out Wonder Woman '84 by December? But Bob, that means...never mind. I'm now dizzy and my mouth tastes like copper. He tries to play off Disney owing EVERYTHING as not that big of a deal,
...debatable to the degree that it's a net negative but it's definitely not a net-positive
which I'll just let that one sit there and fester.
His play at trying to convince watchers that he's the good guy is remarkable
Actual quote and part of ONE SENTENCE:
"... and thus we've learned that a bunch of block buster that were banking on maybe possibly trying to come out in the fall or winter are instead being pushed ahead once more into next year, which at this poi- (audio cuts out) isn't really news so much as a desperate inevitability that lets smug, unpleasant people make bad jokes about how they don't really care while people with SOULS (his emphasis) and human empathy remember that the arts and entertainment industry represents millions of individual actual working class jobs that have either been lost, slashed, frozen, or decimated by this and feel badly about it."
I'd like to say fuck you Bob you unbelievable, out of touch piece of shit. How many times have
I, never mind all of the other fun loving faithful of the Church of Bob, documented your utter disdain for the working man? Your hatred for farmers in that dreaded no mans land your alcohol riddled brain knows as the midwest? Your bemusement at the loss of the industry for coal miners and factory workers? He also says much later
The fact is popular mythology is it is what for a reason. It serves a communal purpose for the human collective. it's kind of weird to me that a lot of people that claim they care so deeply (his emphasis) about the concerns of the "working man", or "ordinary people", or "families just getting by" are so quick when it comes to culture, entertainment, art, the things people do to help themselves get by psychologically day to day that they just dismiss them out of hand.
Bob, no one outside of you and your damaged, arrested developed gang of retards views this shit as anything more than popcorn fodder. No one is putting Ant-Man on a pedestal and no one views Captain America getting Thor's hammer as a cultural milestone. You are a broken man and no one who loves you, other than us, has the balls or, most likely, the ability to care enough to tell you that.
