How will Bob react to seeing the Mario film?

Fascinating, I wonder if Bob just avoids clearly ideologically conservative filmmakers like Clint Eastwood or John Millius. Even a very popular film like Forrest Gump is rather conservative or at least middle of the road, that movie really makes you hate Forrest's love interest Jenny with her hippy hedonistic lifestyle and the ultimate point of the movie is that a good hearted intellectually impaired man can achieve greatness. Bob Chipman would see a man like Forrest Gump and consider him an utter trash mayo-human.
The thing is Forest Gump if you consider it political is a movie about Forest being a enlightened centrist, where as Jenny presents the Left and Lt. Dan represents the Right.
I could easily see Hank written like that as well. One of the finer character traits of Hank though is that while he was a true socially conservative American he willfully ignored or accepted the sexually promiscuous activities of his two father figures, Cotton Hill & boss Buck Strictland (the latter being a clear allusion to the infamously vulgar President Lyndon Johnson). While Hank was a good christian boy who waited until marriage to finally have sex he did not think less of his mentors for honestly being shitty male role models. That's why in my autistic mind Hank wouldn't care about Trump and playboy lifestyle.
The thing is if Trump didn't get involved in politics and become a representative of conservatism/Christianity I could see him being a villain in a King of the Hill episode.

I always thought Hank Hill was an affectionate satire of old school Americans, walking a fine line between sympathetic and satirical. I think Hank probably would have voted for Trump, but this should not be taken as an endorsement of Trump.

Considering Hanks applicability to politics misses the point of him I feel. He's a good man whose a little too rigid for his own good-that's the setup and often the dry punchline.

At the end of the day this was a character who locked his car door when he saw a sign that said "Welcome to Arkansas: Birthplace of Bill Clinton." Anyone who thinks a Hank Hill-style person wouldn't vote down Republican lines didn't pay attention to the many clear political comments made on the show.
i was and still am a huge KOTH fan and even i frowned a bit when hank said "this great state gave us two george bushes"

Hell, he locks his car door when driving into less conservative cities in Texas. In the Boggle episode he locks everything down as soon as the enter into Dallas city limits.

Hank also shows outright contempt for Austin, TX.

Hank is party ticket Republican til he dies.

AVGN was the grandfather of all these "reviewers" suddenly going "if I just bitch and moan and yell about movies while jumping around in front of a camera, I can make money!" Then TGWTG came outta nowhere, ripped AVGN's schtick right off, and turned into a huge online business.

AVGN made money to make videos.
Channel Awesome made videos to make money. There's the difference.
Something all AVGN copycats get wrong is the fact they actually get angry at the games and movies they're reviewing. AVGN is funny because of the overblown hyperbole and context of it all. I think James himself said the reason he thinks it's so funny is because "no one should actually be this angry over 30 year old games no one plays anymore."

Watching fat 30 year olds screech over old games and movies while being 100 percent serious isn't funny, it's pathetic

Bob's diet might have rotted his memory, with my google academic skills I found this

With Bobby I'd place my bet on multi-infarct dementia rather than Alzheimer's.

WTF is "American emotional binary"?

I'm surprised that Bobby considers this a "violent torture". After all, it looks like a fairly small number of donuts for an average-sized person (rest assured people bring up that McDonald picture in their replies).

Bobby has learned to act smug on his accusers (the thread is originally about how Bobby's mom, a former nurse now aged 62, is hooked on Nurse Ratched on Netflix)

Having been kicked out from The Escapist, Bobby attempts to buddy up Channel Awesome:

If he really takes this shit seriously I'm afraid he is indeed demented.

Okay so Bobs was the kid in school who when you insulted him would take the insult litterally and try to desconstruct it. No wonder he got bullied.

He can't even get that right! The whole point of that scene is that Homer doesn't consider it torture. He literally eats until he nearly bursts, all the while calling for more, to the point that the demons run out of donuts. Oh, but since Bob is being bullied, it's "violent torture." Give me a fucking break.

Also, Bob, if you want to pick this episode apart, Homer only beats the Devil because of his undying love for his wife. Sounds like you're pretty much fucked, huh?

Well, yeah. That's the bit. James also plays an exaggerated character; a fat loser that gets far too angry over shitty games. His copycats are ironically fat losers that get far too angry over shitty games. In a way, if you're copying James and actually getting pissed, you're getting got.

Yeah uh anyone who says Hank would vote anything other than conservative or center-right is huffing their own farts or has only ever seen brief clips of this masterpiece of a show.

Dale would vote either libertarian or conservative. Same with Bill and Boomhauer. Basically 85% of the characters would be on the right side of the compass somewhere. John Redcorn wouldn't vote or would vote conservative.

Unless they made some specific political statement I missed in the show Kahn and Minh would also probably vote at least center right, because they're fleeing a shithole communist country in Laos, even if Minh's father is a general.

Well apparently his pleas for more patrons didn't go wholly unnoticed and his slow bleedout has been stopped for now. His Patreon is up another $600/month and 120 more patrons since yesterday. Apparently, there is no end to the amount of fools with money out there. Whether this is just people tossing a few bucks his way one-time or people are actually interested in supporting him long-term remains to be seen. Funny that it's pretty much exactly $5 per new patron, did he specifically ask for that amount in his begging video?
See, this is the thing that drives me nuts about scamcows like Chipman and Zoe (and I may be walking into more tophats, so I’ll apologize in advance).

They make more money sitting on their ass and tweeting/goofing off than many of the people in the company I work at. And the majority of my coworkers are hard-working, diligent, and competent.

And I’m not one of those people who is morally opposed to Patreons or whatever. People deserve to be paid for their work... but pick people who actually do work worth paying for.

One of Bob's consistent qualities is that he loooves dishing it out but plays the victim in a really weasely fashion whenever shit flies his way in return. Here he claims shopping his head into a scene from the Simpsons where Homer is force-fed donuts is "depicting his own violent torture via photo manipulation", only days after he himself was salivating at the very specific idea of Lindsay Graham getting tortured like a victim from an R-rated gory torture porn flick.

Couldn't find a direct tweet of Moviebob daydreaming of Hank Hill voting for Hillary/Joe. But always makes me laugh when you have dummies on the net explaining their headcannon that Hank would hate Trump.

They always like to point out the election episode where Hank finds himself in a moral quandary because George W Bush gave him a wimp handshake. They fail to realize that Hank doesn't even consider voting for Al Gore or a Libertarian candidate. These dopes forget how Hank had an undying affinity for Ronald Reagan. How the show constantly mocked Democrats, that Hank and Cotton bonded over mocking the most left wing President America has had Jimmy Carter.

I know I'm autistic too but if Hank Hill were a real person he'd be a MAGA hat wearing boomer who would donate money to Ted Cruz. While the show at times had some progressive themes (written most likely by left leaning writers) the fact remains that Mike Judge didn't see it as out of character to have Hank make a promo for Alex Jones.

Goddamn I literally just watched this episode last night. Also had a fun time explaining Ol' W to my Zoomer girlfriend. One thing to keep in mind is that Mike Judge is the R. Kelly of piss takes. Hank Hill's politics aren't "real". He is a man who almost didn't vote over a handshake, and that clip of Reagan dying his hair is great too. Its also a great little time capsule of what we used to think and laugh at about conservatives. And Liberals. As I recall Mike Judge is a pretty left, even now. Its been kind of refreshing rewatching this.

But my point is, arguing about Hank Hills politics is full on autistic, because he is kind or a weird amalgamation of conservative punch lines.

Yeah in my opinion Hank would have supported Ted Cruz in the primary then voted Trump in the general, Hank wouldn't identify with the edgy zoomer parts of Trump's base though. He'd probably hate Trump but consider the insanity of the left worse, especially Progressives who act like government should have more of a say over a child's life than the parents.
I think that Hank would have hated Trump too, not for his political stances, but for being a cocky New Yorker.
