Well to be fair to Bob, he wasn't exactly fired, The Escapist simply didn't renew their contract with him. I think there is a bit of a difference there (fucking up and having your contract with your employer voided vs. your employer saying "Thank you. We no longer require your services. Goodbye; best of luck!").

The way they seem to have talked around his departure rather than directly talked about it on the Jack Packard show (I haven't seen it, so someone feel free to correct me) suggests they really are trying to distance himself from him. Or -- and brace yourself for this crazy idea -- maybe he could have spent more time on social media talking movies, video games, and geek culture instead of ranting about Trump and the mayonnaise ghouls. Nurture an audience instead of alienating more people every week. Build his followers instead of finding more people to block.

If the "personal account" really was created at the behest of The Escapist, Bob's failure to understand that was a giant red flag to rein in his bullshit really does mark him as an obsessed autist.
