Something that the Ellis fiasco brings up is that this was even more blunt than Shaun going 'fuck off Bob' in public.
When that happened, as far as the public knows, Bob was told off by someone he trusted as an ally, but he's likely rationalized it as Shaun having a bad day and being angry at him, later on expanding into knowing Shaun dislikes him but not quite getting that it's not just Shaun who does. That he's got haters from the very 'cool kids club' he wants in.
With Ellis, he's gone into actual damage control, although he couldn't avoid revealing his true colors [the gaslight claim, which can only be true in that they treated him well back when he WASN'T an insane diabetic tard at best] before his failed apology which is still aimed at 'winning against the badguys'.
Bob hasn't actually gotten the full #MeToo treatment yet, but it makes me wonder if this open rejection from Ellis isn't going to cause other figures he's been idolizing to go 'HEY EVERYONE, WE ARE NOT FRIENDS OF BOB CHIPMAN OF LYNN, MASSACHUSETTS' to try and get him to fuck off just as openly.
