I mean I could be wrong but don't I think all that art was commissioned in the Sistine chapel so they could sell it to rubes and make a fortune then cookie cut a new one a couple of weeks down the line. Shakespeare and Greek mythology probably weren't some strategy to monopolise an industry.

Those sorts of things were generally commissioned by rich patrons for their enjoyment not because they wanted to churn out a product.

Someone tell Bob very little of modern day films/games/TV programmes are comparable to old art where the art/status was the aim not manufacturing a product for the masses. If anything the films of today are best compared to the circuses of Rome, designed to distract the masses with no real regard for how artistic the disemboweling of a few slaves would be.

Actually Shakespear was the period equivalent of comic books. Penny Dreadfulls for the working classes. He wasn't intending to produce high art. Bob must not have been paying attention to the trajectory the film industry has been on ever since streaming became widely available. When your chief grievance during the pandemic is the movie theaters closing and having to consoom by watching them on streaming services, it really shows just how little of a life you have. Other more important industries like the medical industry are suffering job losses but because they don't entertain Bob, only tell him to lose weight and eat healthy, he doesn't care.

Its not like WB is throwing these films in the trash, Bob will get to see them but he'll have to do so at home, where he has to face the reality that he has no social life.
