God forbid we actually hold people accountable for their failures. It doesn't matter if Letterman didn't actually care about helping Lindsey. The reality is that addressing an issue in a distasteful manner is leagues better than ignoring it and just letting someone kill themselves.

Letterman did more to help people like this by addressing the issue and pointing out that they failed than fuckheads like Bob who would have either ignored Lindsey's addiction or actively encouraged her to continue her self-destruction. God damn sickening.
Letterman had a decades long history of this type of interview by that point. Cher and Richard Simmons both told him to fuck off on the air. Celebrities knew for 20 years at that point that going on Letterman with an active controversy would mean the interview was nothing but questions about the active controversy. Reframing without that context is pretty disingenuous

This is a good opportunity to revisit Bobby's proposed "fix" to the Terminator franchise.

This is straight from Bobby's mouth (7:10 onwards)
That's how I fix the Terminator movies:
- A new set-up replacing technophobia with a more science-positive angle.
- A villain driven by ideology instead of programming.
- A new distinctly 21st-century heroine.
- And a new robotic hero that can pave the way for further expansions of the franchaise.
Just as awful as I remember for a script shat out by a smoothbrain.

Thing is I always had a soft spot for robot stories; I actually LIKE stories where robots are only as bad as their creators and algorithms make them. The blind blade of progress. That shit.

But this utter fucking failure to get the basics of Terminator is amazing. The entire core of the thing (besides robot punching people to death) is machinery can lead to our end in so many ways. A smarter take on what Billy-Bob gurgled out was already done (and I bet he stole it); Wall-E.
Blob wants Moon Macs, but he'd end up with algea/mealworm patties.

I already sperged about this earlier up so I won't again, but I urge anyone who wants to see someone with real brains break down every last aspect of how awful and wrong Blob is to read Isaac Asimov's The Caves of Steel. Blob's Sooperyah Fyutcha is a miserable place that he would find more miserable than most.
Seriously; even Mars would be a better pick for soil usage, and hahaha it's irradiated alkaline horseshit. The groundwork and colonies for space will be pain.

Not that Bob knows this; he only has second hand experience reading Star Trek articles and watching parodies of ToS, since that's the one most remembered by normies.
BAH-stahn Dynamics Brah! Eventually, someday, they'll build a robot that can fall over drunk on it's own and that's when Iowa can be glassed so the mecha-rednecks can take over their jabs!!! I mean, that's the only thing they do out there, right?

BTW - The military has apparently stopped investing in those Boston Dynamics mecha-dogs, essentially saying "that shit's cool, and really LOOKS like the hyperfuture military equipment of an army in an Anime, but, there's nothing it can do right now we can't already do cheaper with real dogs, or just regular old soldiers....."

Typical Bob thinking, though, even if it costs more in resources and takes longer than what we're using now, it's still BETTER as long as it uses HIGH TECHNOLOGY, eschews "old" thinking and LOOKS cool!
I mean, walking mechs can have some value given stability, but I'm not shocked the robot dogs were rejected for basically the reasons you listed.

Why invent a tool when you have a massively cheaper, more reliable, and basically as effective solution of just keeping animals or having the men carry their shit.
Further: if you're writing a story where you sympathise with the machine over man, why aren't you just writing a twilight zone or blade runner story?
Because those are too complicated and difficult for Bob to understand. He struggles with capeshit and thinks Paradise Lost: A Care Bears Story is a genius idea. Only retards who LARP as intellectuals come up with brainless ideas like that.
Bob doesnt have an ounce of creativity in him. If he ever did decide to make his own version of the Terminator it would most definitely be mashed up with Ayn Rand or EPCOT
He basically just aped Wall-E.

"So many emotions!" If I had this blubbering vagina as my father, the only emotion I'd be feeling is stone cold fear.

Also, there have been problems reported with the vaccine. Many people have gotten sick from it. Wouldn't it be ironic if Bob and Chris wound up having to go to the hospital because of a reaction to the vaccine? They certainly believe that catching the 'rona would be a death sentence for the both of them and that the vaccine is some kind of instacure. That certainly doesn't sound like something people who get all of their medical advice from cartoons would think, now does it?

Maybe the reason you weren't disgusted by it is because its a normal celeb interviewing a celeb on nightly tv. It feels good being away from this thread for months only to come back to see he hasn't changed.

As if we needed more proof that he can't write for shit. Watch the first Terminator or the original West World. Notice how frightening the Gunslinger and the T-800 are. Kyle Reese spells it all out: machines like the T-800 cannot be coaxed by human concepts like kindness or mercy to stop. They'll just keep coming unless you destroy them first. But, of course, Bob cannot divorce himself from his politics for one goddamned second. He can't stop humping the concept of technological advancement to completion and we all know what ideology his idea of a villain would follow. Not to mention, having a serious series revolve around an emotionless machine is so blindingly stupid that it needs no explanation as to why it would fail.

His chief emotion has to be "smug".

Kyle Reese spells it all out: machines like the T-800 cannot be coaxed by human concepts like kindness or mercy to stop.
Yet on the flipside, machines cannot be motivated by hatred and spite, which ironically makes them more humane than Bob.

Bobby mistakes a shit-posting blog as the warning against SkyNet:

The solution to defeating rogue AI is ”don't build it”.
I'm not saying that to be a smartarse. If you build any form of general AI there are so many things that could go wrong, so it's best not to let that particular cat out the bag.
The Brothers got shot:

They do both have pre-existing conditions, so...
Chris is nuttier than Bobby about the Carano Case.

> anti-Semitism, racism, transphobia and conspiracy theories are a natural part of being a conservative
That depends what you mean by those words. If you mean ”actually hating Jews, blacks and troons, and thinking that the Earth is flat” then no, they're not conservative concepts.

If, however, you mean not sucking off Israel, supporting equality and thinking that biological sex is immutable and trumps gender, then yes, they are conservative concepts. (admittedly the first is more of a paleocon thing than anything, but whatever)
Untitled.png
"Everything is politics, except when it concerns a blatantly political issue like human rights". I wonder how dumbasses like Chris define "politics".
Ah yes, politics can never cover social issues at all.

I'd also like to point out that free speech and free exercise of religion are human rights, but it seems that they're both right out unless your religion involves the words ”Allahu akbar”.
It's interesting to see Blob hate neoliberalism for a change. Sandy Cortez hasn't posted anything on her Insta about it, so it can't be that.

I'm also surprised to see Blob hate ”ignorant, superstitious, anti-thought... white American obsolescents” given that Blob is ignorant, supports superstition (tarot + astrology), opposes free thought, is a gringo, and holds a job that isn't necessary for society at large.
Still, Bobby keeps his faith about Democrat "logic":
Untitled.png
> only Marjorie Taylor Greene thinks Trump will or should stand again

Oh, and is he calling a female politician by her initials? Here I was thinking that was no bueno, sexist, and that whenever you talked about a congresswoman you had to use her full name and title.
Is he implying that Amazon is a leftist organisation?

Fucking hell.
Someone called Ninja draw the attention of Anita:
Untitled.png
> literally create and reinforce an environment where women are considered inferior

The Holy Autism War was 8 years ago, Anita, get over it.
Bobby's Angels. Eddie rages over the white left's response to Gina Carano's firing.
Untitled.png
To translate:
”leftists I disagree with who ignore my bitching about conservative parades but who get annoyed when I put someone out of a job for hurty words should have no place in the TRUE and HONEST leftist movement”.
A new set-up replacing technophobia with a more science-positive angle.
:story: :story: :story: :story:

Does he not realise that one of the main messages of that film was ”technology is not always good”? Ah, I forgot, these are the people who think you being a wage slave in an Amazon warehouse because your job was taken by a robot is progress.
It never ceases to amaze me that Bob, Chris, and their fellow travelers live in a fantasy world where Trump was putting children and LGBTQRSTUVWXYZ+-= people into cages to presumably await their appointment with the gas chamber. Somehow they convinced themselves that they are "the resistance" despite the blatantly obvious fact that their side hold the presidency, both houses of Congress, have a death grip of all of the major institution, academia, pop culture, and Big Tech. Hell, even the multi-fucking-nationals are toeing the woke line nowadays as the merger of corporations and government nears completion with the dementia-ridden septuagenarian in the Oval Office. How can these people even lack an even basic awareness that they ARE the empire? Odin Almighty, I would hate to live in Boston or anywhere on the east and west coasts if psychotic, paranoid simpletons like the Brothers Chipman are common there.
Trump Derangement Syndrome is a heck of a drug.

Well the only problem with the way people treated Lohan in 2013 is that people weren't hammering her harder on the fact that she's a shameless falling-down drunk who used money, infulence and a circle of co-dependent enablers to avoid any accountability and stop any attempt at recovery.

I guess this is why Terminator 2 is one of people's favourites. We got the T-800, that old cold and heartless machine that somehow... Learns humanity. Even if he doesn't understand it at first and it's, for the most part, cold and methodical, in the end he manages to glean part of it. Remember at the end when John cries and the Terminator says "Now i know why you cry... But i will never be able to do it" or when Sarah Connor says how the Terminator, despite being cold and ruthless, would never stop and would never give up on John no matter what. For me that was telling because it was a way of saying that people are going so insane that we forget our own humanity and care for our people while a machine is learning it.

You could obviously make a good movie taking that concept: the difference between man and machine and can a machine learn to be human. Nier: Automata picked up on that concept and it was great, but it is something that has a lot of potential, both for a positive and for a negative outcome. But Bob cannot let go of his stupid politics. And that is not 100% bad, but the thing is that he is always as blunt as a cudgel to the face when shoving his beliefs down everyone's throats, much like most SJW artists of today that believe that whatever the do every breathing second of their lives must be a political statement.

The thing is that Bob's beliefs are also a heap of trash. His "Technocrat" thing just boils down to what we all said and saw: technology good, human bad. Yet he cannot even grasp the philosophical implications of his own beliefs or the problems with it. And we know he doesn't even want to think about them because that would give him a headache and he's so deluded.

So he seriously doesn't believe robots can be evil? What does he think of the Borg from Star Trek?
He never considered it, he made his proclamation (robots futuristic, therefore good) and will pig-headedly defend it on that knee-jerk level rather than reevaluate it.

Robots good, always.

If you can prove they did something bad, it wasn't all that bad in the grand scheme.

If you can prove it was bad, like how Skynet nuked humanity? Well, we deserved it.

If you can't prove humanity deserved it, well, they're the future so it doesn't matter.

This is one area where his Progressive streak is stonewalled by his belief in superior technology and advancement. In Terminator, the Resistance is made up of what is left of humanity. In Halo, the UNSC is made up of all human soldiers from all over the planet. In both instances, race, color, creed, religion, sex, etc don't mean shit. Mankind is fighting to survive in a common cause. But because SkyNet and the Covenant are technologically superior to humans, Bob sides with them.

Come to think of it, there is a conversation in Terminator: Resistance where a character named Colonel Baron recounts how she was forced to be a sex slave for a human who was collaborating with SkyNet. If Bobert actually had some useful skills to offer, he would surely take such an arrangement.

Especially if that woman was a Republican.

Here's Bob "fixing the Terminator franchise".
Basically, with T2 judgement day was averted, and the fully automated luxury gay space communism future can come by like 2050. Only the intellectual people really have worth there (despite everyone being cared for, I guess?), and the enemies are the dumb brutes who Bob imagines to have been given wedgies in High School by.

Terminator 2 is likely the big catalyst for why I love robots in sci-fi so much. Uncle Bob (no relation to Creepy Uncle Bob) left a strong impact on me as a kid, something about the dedication and the whole exploration of humanity from that which is not. So Bob being a tard who only sees Robot = Good is entertaining in the hobo eating a brick for booze money kind of way. Hell, maybe he's so fucking stupid and autistic he sees himself AS the T-800 in T2 since it was called Uncle Bob.

He unironically thinks machines are a force of good, when any fucking sci-fi dude will tell you they only do as much good as their programming or creators allow them to... and that gets a lot more strange when you give them sapient AI. The ED-209 from Robocop is hands down one of the best demonstrations for "creative AI" and how easy it is for them to fuck up after all.

He should read some Asimov, but I know he won't; he'll just read the wiki article on the Foundation series and watch the I, Robot movie and pretend he understands the main elements like he always does.
So he seriously doesn't believe robots can be evil? What does he think of the Borg from Star Trek?
If you take him at word value; he never watched Next Gen due to being a ToS fag. But I believe he never watched any Star Trek beyond the parodies that were made about it.

It would be just like Blob to skip to Foundation so he can enjoy his Shuperyah Feutchah without having to worry about the centuries and millennia of indignity and corpses the Foundation was built upon during Robots and Empire.

Every last one of those corpses, be they worked to death on Earth or aborted in a Spacer gene-lab, could be a worthless leech like bob. His desired future has no room for him, and even though Earth might not get rid of him immediately, he'd still be surrounded by superstitious mayo ghouls who barely trust robots to work the fields, and would only see his lazy, antisocial ass as walking kindling.

Not even Asimov, some 40K is good enough. A universe in which sentient AIs are banned because they determine in a matter of seconds that in order to solve all the problems of the universe, everything must die and they will embark in a quest to purge all life in the galaxy.

That's why AIs are capped by merging them with humans, therefore creating "servitors", which are lobotomized AIs controlled by an almost lobotomized human because everyone learned from the Rebellion of the men of Iron that you shouldn't trust machines.

What I also find amusing is how Bob wants to take the daughter of Miles Dyson and turn him in your stereotypical “strong POC woman” when he completely forgets that Miles was a decent family man who had the best of intentions and was willing to sacrifice his life when he realizes that his work, no matter how hard he wanted it to help everyday people, would destroy humanity.
