I'm kind of shocked that they haven't greenlit a Sonic cartoon using the movie as a starting point. It's a shockingly simplified reboot of the Sonic premise; no side characters like Tails or Knuckles or cavalcade of side characters from SatAm/comics/games to bog down the plot, decent human characters to serve as foils for Sonic, plus a version of Robotnik that, if they ignore him being dumped into an alien world for the show, is the most straightforward version of him to date in terms of backstory and motivation for his evil.

It wouldn't be Game of Thrones Archie Sonic but it would be a nice basic bitch version of the character plus one that manages to work humans into the premise in a seamless way.
